Disney Application Status "In Progress"
I recently applied for a job on the Disney Careers website. I realize the possibility of actually landing a job is only slightly better than winning the lottery, but you can't win if you don't play....right?
I sent my application on October 22. Since about that same day my Application Status has been "In Progress". Does anybody have any experience in this area? Is this "In Progress" status a terminal condition, or will it ever actually change to something more definitive?
Thanks,

I'd be a little more patient. Disney gets hundreds of applications a day and it takes a while to get through them all. Most HR departments are like this. You won't receive an immediate response about your application, and it may be a little while before you do. If it gets to December and you've heard nothing back, politely contact them to ask about the status of your application and when you can expect to hear more. These processes move very slowly, and I completely acknowledge that's very frustrating! Keep checking back online, and unless the job is listed as "closed" then your application is still in the running. Good Luck!

Disney Application Status "Interview Stage"
OK, now the status of the position on my Disney Career Dashboard says "Interview Stage". However, I haven't heard from anyone. Any thoughts....is this a positive or negative development?

expect a call or email with in a week or 2 if you dont hear from them then they found someone keep in mind that im sure there are hundreds looking at the same job as you so imagine the interviewers daunting challenge a head of them

Can I ask what position you applied for?

It is titled Project Manager but reads more like a Program or Portfolio Manager position

Cool So I'd assume a salaried position then. Those are usually more involved to process and fill the positions, so you may not hear anything for a while.
If it was an hourly CM (Food & Beverage, Operations/Attractions, Resorts, Merchandise, etc.), I'd say give them a call in the next week or so to check on your status. The hourly positions are filled more than salaried.

Thanks for the feedback Jim. I just got back from a GREAT week at Kidani Village. I kept thinking, wouldn't it be convenient if they called me for an interview while I'm here.....didn't happen. I'm sure Thanksgiving week isn't a big time for interviews. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

For anyone that might ever be interested in the process, I'll keep updating this thread as long as the process moves forward.
Today I received a call from an HR representative with Disney. Just a few quick screening questions....am I still interested in the job, would I be willing to relocate to Orlando, what are my salary expectations.
Very friendly conversation. We have a bit of a salary gap (I expected that), but she didn't feel the delta was a show stopper just yet. Next step will hopefully be a call from an HR Manager.
Dashboard on Disney Careers website still indicates "Interview Stage"

Depends on where you want to work.
Hourly Operations (Attractions), Food/Beverage/Merchandise/Resort/Custodial Cast are pretty much hired in. Not much "screening", but you may only start out part-time instead of full-time. If you're looking to make a living as an hourly CM, *this* will take a good....few years or more. You can also start out seasonal if you can afford to work about 150 hours a calendar year.

The update here is, there really is no update. 10 days out from my phone call from the HR rep, and nothing has changed. No more phone calls....status on website still says "Interview Stage".
I guess the passage of time with no changes is useful information for others that might want to know how this process works.

Thank You Carrie. It is disappointing, but, in a world where so many people would love to have ANY job, it's hard to feel too sorry for myself because I didn't get my dream job.
I'll just keep watching the Disney Careers website and try again.

Great attitude. It should work in your favor eventually. Sorry about this time, though. I hope another dream opportunity presents itself soon.
