Good Monday morning everyone! Here's some coffee Brian - the sugar and cream are over there....
We have a full staff here at work once again, so I just might be able to hang out here a bit more this week! So, what should we talk about?

It certainly is a beautiful day here.
So did anybody get any cute homemade gifts? They are always the best!!
I got a homemade card with a castle on it...wonder why it would have a castle hmm? And dh gave me a card with cotton balls and something about snoring. I think (cause he told me so) he forgot his usual "nice" card at work and had to give me a weird one since he ran out sunday morning to get it.

I had my ego boost for the day. My 8-yr-old granddaughter was standing with me as we greeted the audience after the show and someone asked me if she was my daughter.
Sounds like your ego was already doing ok.

Di, glad to hear that you're no longer fending for yourself at work! We have no reno's to plan right now... maybe we should talk about the movies we plan to see in the next few weeks. (Thanks, Brian, for the lovely picture. )

Can I get a double Venti? I wasn't able to sleep last night (finally dragged myself into bed at 3:00 am) and then had an 8:30 conference call this morning. I'm tired... need caffeine (and I only have decaf in the house right now).

See above... do you have caffeine? Please send a large shipment!
My DS is home sick again today... I'm seriously beginning to think that the kid has allergies (though he never did before this year).
What's for lunch, people? I'm going to make a salad with chicken and mango salsa. Anyone want some? (I'll trade you for coffee.)

Good morning everyone!
Do you all find it impossible to get back into the swing of things after a vacation? I have been so busy since my return. I had high hopes of getting my trip report done this week, but I just haven't had time. It looks like next weekend is when I will be able to do it. I have the house to myself all weekend as the boys will be away.
I had some not so good news this week. They have been restructuring our floor (I am a nurse) and have decided to change our rotations. In doing all of this, they ended up drastically changing the part time rotations. We used to be all fairly equal but not now. We range from a .47 time to a .70 rotation. I used to be in a .66 which is basically 2/3 of full time. Anyhow, we had to pick our new lines in order of seniority...and lucky me, of all the part timers I picked last. I ended up with the small one. It is less than 1/2 of full time. That is a huge drop in pay for me. I figure my pay drops about $900/month.
So...anyone want to strike with me? Now, how am I to save for my Cruise? I will be sure to apply for the first thing that comes, but it may be tight over the summer around here.
I need coffee. Maybe a little Bailey's in it?

Why not give him an allergy pill and see if there is improvement? My DS8 has been rather messy for the past week (trees are a poppin'!)

I'm still not organized or functioning at full steam.... I don't know what it is...? I can give you some Bailey's -- that is if the relatives by marriage in my kitchen on Saturday didn't finish it off along with my almost full bottle of Apfelkorn!!!!!!!!

Maybe it is PTVS (Post traumatic vacation syndrome). Whatever it is...I need another vacation. If realtives didn't drink all of Baileys I will take some...or I could use some Amarula Liquer that I have here. Isn't that the liquer they use in Zebra Domes?

Ain't that the truth! Seems like everyone needs a vacation just to recover from their vacation!

If you are looking for something to do this week, I know a house that needs to be dusted and vaccuumed. I also know two large doggies that would love to be visited and played with. And a yard that needs to be fixed up. And if you are REALLY bored, you could go to that same house and have a nice hot dinner waiting for when the homeowner gets home home from work! THAT would definitly win you the 'sister of the year' award!
So, what's a good question to ask?

A little Baileys? Don't you think this calls for a LOT of Bailey's?
I have a sister-in-law who has been a nurse for 30+ years and have a couple of friends who have also been in nursing for 20+ years. It seems like every couple of years one or another of them is going through something like this.
I have never worked in the medical profession, but I really don't understand why the people in charge of these nurses can't find a system that works and then stick with it!!
Good luck!

Sorry....have to find someone else. Can't do anything with dust & dirt. Got my own doggies to play with & I really don't feel like cooking that much food. What made you think I was going for "sister of the year"? I could phone the Merry Maids to come help you.

Hey all, how is everyone today? I know I have been out of circulation for the last couple of weeks because of my back, so does anyone want to bring me up to date on what I have missed?
I am tickled to death that my doctor has FINALLY agreed to put me on a pain patch for my back pain!! I understand his concern about trying yet another narcotic and all the potential problems that can create. However I am sure that any of you who suffer from chronic severe pain can testify that the roller coaster effect that you get on from taking oral narcotics is just horrible!!
What happens is that you take a pill either because you really hurt or because it is time and then you feel better for an hour or so. Then, about an hour after taking the medication, the oral narcotic starts to wear off and the pain comes right back. The problem is that it is still 4 or 5 hours from the time you can take another pill!!
With this patch, rather than getting a full hit of the medicine at the time you take it, you get a small amount of the medication all the time.
Ok, I will quit crying to you all now!

German apple liqueur. Smooth and lovely -- but easy to get carried away with. My BinL and my husband's cousin made short work of a 26oz bottle that cost me a pretty penny.....They didn't even ask me if I wanted some!!!!!!! I'm glad you are looking toward some less painful days Jasper!

Ham and cheese on whole wheat? Decaf? In your house? Isn't that well I don't know but to me it would be like wearing flats...just unheard of.
Did you find some coffee yet?
DS's allergy's to trees snuck up on him. It can vary alot depending on where you are.
