Gran Terino versus Animal Kingdom - both club level
We are only going for 2 nights. We want a break during the day to swim. Which resort would be better. I know the Grand Floridan or Poly would be better but they are a little out of reach at the moment.
Thoughts on buses from each resort. Too far away? Takes too long?
Thoughts on club level? Gluten free?
Thanks!

Animal Kingdom lodge is the furthest from everything. We enjoyed staying there last fall. But at night when you are tired it is a long ride back. They have nice restaurants and the pool is nice. Have not stayed at Grand Terino. But we have stayed at Coronado Springs may times. We love the resort! Hope to stay club level there next spring. We never had problems with the buses at either place. The ride is not as long at Coronado Springs.

To start, we have not stayed at Gran Terino. But Animal Kingdom Club Level is by far one of our favorite ways to spend time at WDW. It's something we really look forward to. In fact, we would choose AKL Club over any stay at GF or Poly. The look and peaceful feel of AKL is just very special, and they have the animals and the best restaurants on property.
I cannot honestly tell you for sure about the gluten-free, but I have to expect they are prepared with options for you.
As for how far away it is? That's something I think gets a bit exaggerated. It really depends on which parks you'll be spending the most time. It's a long bus ride to MK, but not as bad to EPCOT or HS.
Enjoy your trip!

Since Gran Terino is new why not try it. I do love Animal Kingdom but the food was not for me, way to spicy but it is relaxing and we will stay again.

FYI - it's Grand Destino, not Grand Terino. "Grand Terino" is a misspelling of Grand Torino, which was a Ford car from the late 70s and also a 1986 movie with Clint Eastwood.

We just got back from a split stay at YC and CS. We visited the Grand Destino tower and I wasn't a fan. It's very bright and shiny and frenetic. I love the laid back and peaceful atmosphere at AKL. AKL has always been our favorite and I would love the chance to stay club level. We love exotic food and Sanaa, Jiko and Boma are some of our favorite restaurants. I guess it depends on what type atmosphere you want. Grand Destino is very bright and loud, while AKL is dark and much more serene. For us, 2 nights club level at AKL would be a dream vacay. CS and Grand Destino were ok, but not my fave in terms of aesthetics, food, and general atmosphere.

I haven't stayed at Grand Destino, but I would take AKL over the Grand Floridian or Polynesian any day. I believe the pool at AKL is a zero entry pool if that makes a difference to you.
I'll meet you at the Rainbow Bridge.

It really depends what is important to you as these are truly personal choices. We have only done Club Level at Poly and AK. We were very disappointed in the AK one. While the location wasn't too bad (far walk) it is very very dark in the meandering corridors. The offerings were so so but what disappointed me the most was the very slow refilling of the offerings especially at breakfast. The lounge area is extremely small and when you ask about refills it was as if it was too much work. The response was always - we are working on it. I have never had that experience at Poly. As I mentioned, I have no experience with the the new tower but it looks more promising honestly. The pool at AK was a plus...definitely not as warm as I would like it but it was a nice space. We loved the games for the kids throughout the resort. Many more offerings than at other resorts. I would only stay at AK again if we had downtime available to enjoy the Savannah. Most Disney days are park days so I felt we truly missed the best part of the resort. Sitting on your balcony or enjoying the overlooks were our favorite memories.
