Rafiki's Planet Watch Closing??--Updated 9/28/18
Saw some rumors online that Rafiki's Planet Watch is closing forever on Oct 21, 2018. Apparently the cast members were informed this morning of it although I can't find any official announcements. Anyone know more details about this?? Maybe they've got big plans for the area?

Cast members were told this morning that instead of going seasonal it is now closing. My DD is a cast member and heard this morning

Will the train be gone too? No reason for a train to nowhere.

Wow! I had heard it was going seasonal, and I was bummed about that ... but am really sad if it is closing. I always enjoyed that area, especially watching the surgeries!

Darn! I just came back from Animal Kingdom and had planned to go out to Rafiki's Planet Watch, but then changed my plans at the last minute. Had I known they were closing, I would have taken one more trip for sure.

The Orlando Sentinel and other local media groups are reporting that a Disney Spokesperson has confirmed to them that the decision to permanently close Rafiki's Planet Watch has been changed to a multi-month renovation with a Spring 2019 re-opening date.

These all-over-the-place announcements about Rafiki's make me wonder if Ed the hyena from the Lion King hasn't been put in charge of Rafiki's Plant Watch!

The best, and in my opinion the only good part, was that train. Love more trains.. Yes, I'm Sheldon.
