Default Fall Fun - Part 7

    October 2 (Sunday)

We start our day by heading to the Carriage House. We each have a coffee and share an egg sandwich on a croissant. After breakfast, we head to the pool but there is a sign outside saying the pool is closed. Yet, we see a full contingent of lifeguards in place and a few folks in the pool area. When we question one of the lifeguards, we find they have forgotten to remove the "Pool closed" sign. Okay. We settle in; play in the pool a bit, visit the hot tub, play in the pool a bit and return to our room.

Showered and changed, we are able to board a bus to Epcot within minutes of getting to the bus stop. Although there is a no bag entry, each time we have come into Epcot, we've needed to go through additional screening which backs this area up - going through the bag area would be quicker - actually.

The park is very, very busy. We follow the hordes through the park and make our way to Tutto Gusto where we have martinis and meatball sliders for lunch. We manage to get on a few rides including Spaceship Earth and Mission:Space. We also get on Frozen thanks to a fastpass. The ride is cute. Within 20 minutes of entering the fastpass line, we have ridden the ride and are walking out of the exit. This is certainly not worth the posted 135 minute standby line!!!

We have a 5:30 Beverage Seminar booked. The skies look threatening and though we are quite early for our seminar, we enter the Festival Center. While walking around, we find they are about to begin a seminar on Jack Daniels. My spouse is quite interested in this so settles himself into a bench outside the "official" seminar space so is able to take in all the information even though he is unable to get any of the samples. I wander around and purchase a cookbook and a Figment Apron.

I'm not impressed with the seminar we attended. It was basically an ad for a specific liqueur distributor. We were provided with three samples of different liqueurs along with a history of each. The best of the three was a coffee liqueur. The worst was the last sample they provided - it tasted like cough medicine and, in fact, the speaker indicated that it was often used by Italian moms as a cure for upset tummies and even to rid one of worms. Okay, then - moving on...

There is a passholder special that states you can get a free commemorative glass if you go to Epcot on three occasions during the Food and Wine Festival. Today was our third visit. We went to the Innovations location where they confirmed our three entrances into Epcot and provided each of us with our glasses.

Out to the buses to head "home". Just as our bus pulls up, a family, including an adult male in a scooter shows up. The family heads to the right of the line while the man in the scooter goes shooting out into the parking lot where he does a couple of loops and scoots around the back of the bus to the wheelchair pad. The driver asks where they are heading and they reply they are going to Pop Century. The driver tells them they need to follow the red sidewalk all the way around to the next parking lot over to get a bus to their destination. The woman in the group replies this is the location they were dropped off and they want to return. The bus driver says they may have been dropped off there but they need to go to the other bus stop. He then goes around the back of the bus to explain to the adult male that he must follow the red sidewalk to the other bus stop.

This time, we do not get off at the Grandstand but, instead, go all the way around to The Springs. We pick up a turkey club to share for dinner. As we walk home, the rains come again.

Eat at home; relax; tubby; off to bed.

Another nice day. I'm sorry you were disappointed with your seminar. As for the scooter bound person & family, quite frankly nothing shocks me anymore. The rudeness and stupidity levels here have risen to an all time high.

Thanks for the heads up on the Beverage Seminar. We were considering doing one and we were afraid it would be exactly what you described. Good to know!
