Default parkiing for our o'hana ressie

Staying offsite and driving in for our O'hana breakfast! Would like to park at Poly and then hop monorail to MK for the day. Is this ok to do? I have heard/read that you technically have 3 hours but can generally just stay all day and not have to pay.

Nope, not ok. The lot is marked as not for theme park parking. If everyone did what you are proposing the guests of the resort would be unable to find parking when they returned to the hotel. The lot is not large and can't handle that large a crowd. Really, it comes down to showing the same courtesy to that resort's guests that you would expect at your home resort or hotel. So don't park for more than the time it takes for you to enjoy your ADR and some of the resorts amenities.

There are three choices here. 1 use valet parking and you can stay all day, 2 park in the TTC lot take the tram and short walk (it is short at about 5 minutes), or 3 park in the hotel's free parking and move after your ADR. Personally I'd choose number 2 it really is convenient. The only way you are inconveniencing the resorts guests is to not use one of those.

Double It's not okay at all. The one thing to add to the above is you can park at the TTC and then just take the monorail straight from Poly to MK. You wouldn't have to go back to the TTC.

What we have done is had the driver drop everyone else off at the Poly, and then DH slips back and parks at the TTC. When DD was little, it was easier than everyone doing the parking/monorail trip.

Honestly, it took just a minute. By the time we were ready to check in, DH was there.

    Question...

The OP is staying offsite, so unless they have an AP that gives them free parking, what is the cost difference between paying to park at the TTC and paying to valet park at the Poly?

I think they both run $20 these days ... plus tip for the valet of course.

Unless something has changed - it is the same cost except for perhaps including a tip at valet pickup. Based b on that - I would probably valet parking at Poly for convenience sake however it really is a super short walk from TTC to the Poly or a very short monorail ride. Not only is it more convenient to valet park at the Poly, exiting MK will be faster & more convenient. Instead of leaving with the masses to the TTC you can take either the small boat launch to the Poly marina or the resort loop on the monorail. Depending if you get to the launch or station and can board relatively quickly the time between the two choices is minimal. We always just pick the shorter of the two lines.

Question, if the OP is staying offsite wouldn't they have to pay when they come through the gate and then again if they use valet? We never have a car so I really don't know Also, in October the valet fee was raised to $25 at all deluxe resorts.

Interesting that it has been changed to $25 because the Disney website is reporting $20 still. So much for keeping that updated.

Which gate? The Magic Kingdom gate? No. If you have an ADR, when you drive through the gate you just tell them that you're going to a meal at whichever restaurant, and they tell you where to go and let you through. I mean, if they didn't, then anyone just going to check in to stay at any of the MK resorts would have to pay a parking fee when they were going to their hotel.

Could you lie about that and then go park at the MK for free all day? I suppose so. Not cool, though.
