6:15 came early but everyone got up without a fight. We had stockings and a few gifts to open before we left for the park. One of the gifts was Janice made matching shirts for all of us with Mickey Head wearing a Red Santa with our names on them. We were down at the bus stop by 7:05 and there were at least 100 people waiting. We made it on the 2nd bus 20 minutes later and were on Main Street by 7:45. It was a foggy morning and the Castle looked eerie with the fog hanging around it. By 9:00 it had all burned off.
We waited for some photo pass pics with our matching shirts and the castle and then stopped to listen to the Main Street Trolley shows Christmas performance. We figured if we were going to ride anything now would be the time so did Buzz, BTMR, HM, Space Mnt (FP+), & COP, & got pictures with Princess Tiana.
By 10:30 people were already lining up spots for the noon parade which they then announced would start 30 minutes earlier as did the afternoon parade. We were getting very hungry and it was time for our ADR's at the Crystal Palace for lunch. The food was average, the price too high, but it was good to get out of the sun and relax for an hour. After lunch we took a trip on the Jingle Cruise (FP+), visited the Tiki Room and finally POC (FP+). It was now time for the afternoon Christmas parade and we got a good spot in Frontierland across from Country Bears. The only bad thing was that we turned to view the parade coming at us, we were looking into the sun so most of our pictures did not come out to good. Bryan was on the other side of the street in the shade and he got some better pictures.
Waits for the major rides were 2+ hours so we planned to leave the park and do a monorail tour of the resorts just as we had done the day before of the Epcot resorts. We took the monorail to the Contemporary and although the did not have much they did have a nice Frozen exhibit. From there we walked down to the marina and got the boat to the WL. The tree in there was 50ft tall and they had a photo pass person taking pictures. She was good and spent time getting good shots of us. Andrew was hungry so he ate in the Roaring Forks and we had something to drink. By now it was getting near sunset and we took the boat back to the MK and then another boat over to the Polynesian.
There wasn't a lot to see at the Poly so we caught the monorail to the GF. We saved the best for last as they had a life size gingerbread house big enough to fit a candy shop inside. Once back in the MK, Main Street was wall to wall people. We made our way through it towards the Castle and were able to find a spot not to far back where over the next hour we would stand in one spot to watch Celebrate the Season Show containing all your favorite Disney Characters, A Frozen Holiday Wish that transformed a plain Castle into a Castle covered in Icicles, then Celebrate the Magic projection show and finally Holiday Wishes. Wasn't able to see the stage show too well as the families in front of me started lifting their kids onto their shoulders and since there wasn't any room to move I had to try to look around them.
Before we left in the afternoon we grabbed another FP+ to do Pooh and it was now time. We were wearing out by now but there was still one more Christmas show to see and that was A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas Show with Stitch, Buzz and Mike W. It was a nice way to finish of Christmas day with one last show of holiday music. Before we left we got a cream cheese pretzel at the Lunching Pad. These are so good I don't understand why more places don't sell them. On our way out we did one last photo pass on Main Street with us and the Castle all lit up.
The only negative part off the day was the bus ride back and this will be how two families remember their Christmas day. To make a long story short there was a disagreement with sitting vs standing and a child waving a blinking light saber near someone's face and that parent saying their child could do whatever they wanted. Unfortunately tempers were short and the profanity started. It was the longest bus ride ever.
Tomorrow is back to Epcot to finish off Holidays around the World.
