If you have never been I would say definitely give it a go. We go everytime we are there for the holidays I love the special shows and the parade it's just a great holiday themed event. The rides all have minimal lines which is a huge plus as well. I haven't been for Christmas in a few years and never with kids so Im really looking forward to our December trip this year and the party is def something we will attend!

I didn't think it was worth it. I much preferred the Halloween party. The fireworks and parade are far better at the Halloween party. And honestly for the amount of money it should be longer than 5 hours.
Characters are out all over the place including rare ones so that's cool. But knowing that I could see the same parade and same firework show includes in normal park admission closer to Christmas seemed to naw at me a bit.
If you've never gone I'd say go for it, but I don't think I'll be returning any time soon. Halloween party? That's another matter
The decorations that are out during the regular holiday hours at MK are pretty much the same decorations for MVMCP, so the transformation for the holiday party isn't near what it is for Halloween.
Rides are obviously the same, weather its the party or regular hours.
You get the Christmas day parade, special fireworks and the last time we went (granted a while ago) there were two or three special stage shows that you wouldn't get during regular park hours.
I think there is hot chocolate/cookies and I think maybe special MCMCP merchandise that is only available during the event.
If money isn't an issue and its your first time doing it, probably not a bad idea. I'm more and more pessimistic with Disney's extra hard ticket money grabs, and straight up value for what you pay, I don't think its worth it. I enjoy it, but I don't think its worth the chunk of change I'd have to drop to take my family.
