    Default Trip Report "Reporting" Question....

So we are tripping to the world in two days for a nice 5-day break from reality and my question is this: Many of us Intercotees love posting AND reading up on each others trips and I was wondering how people like to 'take' their Trip Report reading.

One post about the whole trip or multiple day by day posts? General summary or all the details? Broken out into sections (Dining, Accommodations, etc.)? Bullet points? Lots of personal asides or 'just the facts'? Getting it after the return or live from the World? I usually do one post broken down by Day (1, 2, 3...) and paragraph away! Of course I'm willing to change it up - I am the designated Trip Reporter of the family - based on the responses here. Wednesday here we come!!

I like all trip reports but I love to read general overview posts with the bests and less-than-bests. I scan detailed reports to see what catches my eye but always thoroughly read the overviews. Have a great trip!

I love the play by play reports. I can feel like I am walking through the parks with them.

His answer is no help, but I like both. I like a general evaluation of the entire trip. However, I also love reading the day-by-day breakdown of the vacation. It almost makes me feel like I'm there with the poster, as well.

I prefer the one thread trip reports and hitting the highlights. First timers and newer fanatics will have more highlights.

If daily life requires some escape, I like the detailed report. Especially a positive detailed report, well written.

Most of the time I find the what worked/what didn't work reports to be the most useful.

Especially with so many changes lately.

I have quit reading reports that dwelt too much on things going wrong. I'd rather read a balanced report.

Any way you want to report it, we'll read it! I know that detailed trip reporting can be quite an undertaking, but it sure is wonderful to read them on this side of the board.

Enjoy the trip and your family, and we'll be eagerly awaiting your reports!

If you write it, I'll read it.

Personally, I prefer details and day by day reports I find that I always glean some nugget of new information this way. This is the way I write and post my trip reports - while mine may be too detailed for many, I also think that the details may be helpful to those who have never been there or haven't been there in quite some time.

Even if all you have time for is a quick summary of your report, I love to read about each person's perspective and experience(s).

Bottom line -- there is no "correct" way to submit a trip report -- It can be a quick summary, a list of the "best of" or detailed. There will be an audience for each type of report and we appreciate everyone who takes the time to comment on their trip with a report of some type!!
