POFQ vs Coronado Springs
We are going to WDW in February for the Princess Half Marathon. Our travel agent just emailed me and said the POFQ was overbooked and we were offered Coronado Springs. We made the change but now I'm not sure I did the right thing. We have never stayed there before. Can anyone ease my concerns? It will be myself, my Wife and two boys 19 and 17. Thanks.

I'd stay at CSR 1000x over FQ. But I'm in the minority here.

Both are great resorts, but quite different. POFQ is quaint and intimate. CSR is very large with at least four bus stops.
I'd give the nod for both the pool options, as well as the food options, to CSR (although Port Orleans does have fresh Beignets.) Maya Grille is a great dinner restaurant; POFQ doesn't have a sit-down restaurant. I also prefer CSR's Pepper Market to POFQ's food court.
Both are well themed. CSR has a lake, which if memory serves me correct, you can rent boats for a ride. POFQ has the boat ride to Downtown Disney, which is a major draw for us.
CSR has a convention center, which I've heard can be a negative, although it's never really been an issue for us.
In the end, I think you'll be more than pleased with the switch.
Enjoy!

We just stayed at Coronado Springs and have stayed at French Quarter. I'd take Coronado Springs over French Quarter having stayed at both. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Coronado for sure! We have stayed at both, and while POFQ is cute and intimate, we really liked CSR. WE had a great room, it was quite and peaceful, food court was great and we had excellent bus service! I thought our room was nicer there also! Go for it!

We have stayed at both. While I enjoyed both, CSR is our family's overall favorite resort. (My husband prefered POR to POFQ but we both loved CSR.) We have only stayed in the Ranchos section and we did not find the walks to be far at all. (Ranchos is one of the first bus stops at the resort.)

I have stayed at both resorts and like them both.
As it has been mentioned, CSR is a much bigger resort than POFQ.
It is a beautiful resort with three distinctly themed area. The feature pool is very nice with a much better slide than the one at POFQ. You also get the benefit of a sliding door that separates the sink area from the rest of the room and some benefits usually only available at the deluxe resort such as a health club, hair salon and massages.
It is a lovely resort. I think you will enjoy it.

CSR is our personal favorite moderate, and that is saying a lot since my wife and I got engaged at POFQ haha.
They are both very nice, but quite different. As others have said, POFQ is much more intimate (why I chose it for proposal) and has more of an adult feel. I can't speak to the pool much but it seems nice.
I think from a layout/landscaping perspective, CSR is one of the more beautiful resorts in the park, regardless of category. It is also one of the most spread out, which I personally really like. No matter how busy the resort is, it never really feels that busy (unless you're staying right next to the lobby building). We last stayed there on Dec. 30-31, busiest time of the year, and the resort felt dead, though I know it was full.
Also, the rooms in CSR are the nicest in all of the moderates IMO. POFQ's used to be the best, but since CSR renovated the rooms, they are super nice. Basically deluxe quality.
Oh and CSR has what is probably the best resort water slide at WDW next to the Y&B Club slide and maybe Polynesian.
The only downside to CSR is if you hit it during a big convention (it is the largest convention space at WDW), it can be a bit of a hassle, but I'd still highly recommend it. Matter of fact, my wife and I are staying there during our trip in October.
Enjoy!

Thank you
Thank you everyone. I did a search when I made the change and there didn't seem to be alot of good reviews I guess for CSR. People seemed to prefer POFQ so I got worried. I should have come here first.
Really how bad could it be, we will be in Disney.

I think you will enjoy it. Don't worry about online reviews. I think some people don't like the fact that CSR is so spread out (which is one of the things I like most about it) and I know a lot of people get miffed when they stay there while a big convention group is staying there.
We've stayed there several times though and it has consistently been my favorite moderate. We're staying there again in October for 5 nights and I can't wait!

We have not stayed at either resort, but we have toured and visited each of them. I don't think you could go wrong with either one. They are different, but that's true of all the WDW resorts. We are going to be staying at POFQ this year during Christmas, so we'll experience that resort for the first time, and we are really looking forward to it. Maybe we'll make to CSR on our next trip.

Our favorite resort was POFQ till we stayed at CSR in May. I really love this resort. We were in a preferred room close to the first bus stop. The pepper market grill was great, ate there quite a few nights. There was a large convention going on, only noticed all the people first thing in the morning. Never had any trouble with busses. It is a very quite and beautiful resort, also very large. To me you cant't go wrong, after all it is DISNEY.

Never stayed at the POFQ but stayed at CSR and liked it. I just wouldn't pay for a preferred room because I didn't feel it was worth it.

I love the FQ, but I feel as though you will like CSR just the same. The only thing I don't like about CSR is that it is so big, I love the small town feel the FQ gives. Either way you will be at Disney, so all is good !!

We did a split stay a few years ago with POFQ and CSR. Both are definitely nice but we liked POFQ more. We liked the small size and the nice boat ride to downtown Disney. We just liked how you didn't have walk far to get anywhere, especially after a long day at the park. Neither of use liked the pepper market at CSR.
