New Monorail Operational Hours
The monorail has been operating on a varied schedule based on park hours. However, as of June 22 the monorail will operate on a fixed schedule, not dependent on park hours, to accommodate upgrades and new automation/safety features being implemented that will make the monorail more efficient in the future. This schedule will last, at a minimum, though this summer. No word on when the times might switch so just assume this is the schedule until a different announcement is made:
Magic Kingdom Resort beam - 8:30am to midnight
Magic Kingdom Express beam - 9:30am to 11:30pm
Epcot beam - 9am to 11pm
Additional watercraft and buses will be brought online when the monorail is not operating.

Wow, IMO this is really making the monorail resorts less attractive. Anyone looking to take advantage of morning EMH or be at Epcot for opening will need to be bused anyway. The simplicity of traveling from one resort to another for breakfast before starting your day at the park will also be affected by this.

Wow! This really lessens the appeal of staying at a monorail resort.
I would hate to be a Poly guest at this time! Between the construction and mess at the resort itself, and now reduced monorail hours. In my opinion it's just way to pricy given the current state of things.

The monorail schedule is still keeping long hours, so the few times I couldn't take it wouldn't really put me off. These resorts also have the boat launch option, which we use about as much as the monorail. Assuming they have extra boats running to make up for the monorail downtime, it's really not that big a disappointment.
The magic of being at these resorts is the proximity to the MK, not just for transportation purposes, but to be within sight and earshot of the MK and to enjoy the lagoon and the surroundings. The benefits are still there. I wouldn't choose the Poly right now for construction purposes, but nothing to do with the monorail hours. Is the monorail running on a reduced schedule a bummer, yes, but it's not a major setback for me in choosing a resort.

I'm surprised by the late opening times. There are going to be some packed ferries from the TTC to MK.

Just keep in mind one thing - for now this schedule is temporary. It's only listed for the summer while they're doing some automation and safety updates in the evening (though why they're choosing the busiest time of the year to do that is beyond me). There's no word on what the schedule will look like once the updates are finished this fall other than I'm told it'll be "more efficient" whatever that means.

So will they have busses run from resort to resort for breakfast??? Reservations at Chef Mickeys from GF may have become a long trek instead of a five minute commute! Always something. :-/
