    Default Warm Butterbeer?

Universal posted this morning on facebook that fans at the A Celebration of Harry Potter weekend, the early entry guests were given the chance to try warm butterbeer. Not sure if it's just a one time thing this morning or this weekend, but sounds very interesting.

If all they did is warm the butter beer syrup (assuming there's a syrup base in all the butter beer drinks) in some kind of liquid and serve it, I'm not sure that I could stomach it. Carbonated is not so bad, but the frozen butter beer is overly sweet to me.

Ewww. I can't imagine that. The only hot drinks I can stomach are coffee and hot chocolate.

Years ago Border's Books had a hot drink on their menu called Butterbeer. It was for the release of one of the books. It was amazing. Steamed milk with butterscotch and Hazelnut syrup, if I remember correctly. I still miss it and that will always be Butterbeer in my mind (even though I did like the Universal version.) Here's hoping it tastes like that.

I believe it was testing to see how it played to the crowds... They did or still do have plans to introduce warm butterbeer, but may as well make sure it will be a popular...

I'd be willing to give it a taste... I love the frozen butterbeer, so much better than the liquid, which is just totally delicious in and of itself!!!

TRICIA JONES: I heard that you were going to propose to Brandi Svenning at some theme park. When are men going to learn that women want ROMANCE, not Mr. Toad's Wild Ride...

BRODIE: Hey, now, be fair. EVERYONE wants Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

Go to Starbucks and ask for:

Here are the ingredients for the cold (frappuccino) version:

    • A Creme Frappuccino base. Don’t skimp on the fat by asking for skim or 2% milk as whole milk is required for the right consistency.
    • Add 3 pumps of caramel syrup.
    • Add 3 pumps of toffee nut syrup.
    • Top with caramel drizzle

    And the hot version:

    • Whole milk steamer
    • Add caramel syrup (2 for tall, 3 for grande, 4 for venti)
    • Add toffee nut syrup (2 for tall, 3 for grande, 4 for venti)
    • Add cinnamon dolce syrup (2 for tall, 3 for grande, 4 for venti)
    • Whipped cream and salted caramel bits on top
    • Optional if you prefer to add a coffee taste: Add a shot of espresso (2 for a grande or venti)

I hate Star bucks coffee, tastes like burnt mud... But, I can say, this was actually delicious!!! yes, I did try both... Just not sure I can say it tastes like Universal's butterbeer or not though...

Watching the movies, I always thought that Butter Beer was a hot drink.

I love the frozen version but am very excited at the possibility of trying the hot version.....of course as long as it's a whole different drink than the cold.

The soda version is OK but reminds me of a cream soda with some foam.

In the books, butterbeer is described as either warm or hot...

Yeah, in the books, they have it warm in the the winter, but otherwise, they drink it cold out of bottles or mugs.

That is good to hear. I never read any of the HP books, just have seen the movies, so I don't know as many details as people who have read the books.
