    Default Day Solo Trip?

I may have the opportunity to take a solo trip on 5/30. DBF has a conference and if I can get the day off from work, I may tag along for the four hour drive (gotta keep him company, right?) and then have him drop me off.

I'm only a little concerned because I've never done Disney by myself. DBF did it last year and he said it was a bit lonely.

I'm somewhat concerned because my I have some terrific memories of my late father in Disney. They resurface when we take trips, but usually DBF is there, and I think of all the great memories he and I are creating, but that will be harder if it's just me.

The best part of the rides for me is the laughter and fun WITH my trip companion.

I'm thinking MAYBE do different things, like spend time at the resorts, go to Animal Kingdom (which is usually a peaceful park), maybe meet Belle (which is not something I usually do). Which resorts would you visit?

Do you guys have any insights on how to approach this trip?

I did a solo trip a few years ago and admittedly there are some times when old memories and being alone did hit me, however, the opportunity to have no other agenda but mine was pretty cool. I would certainly consider being there with DW and kids my ideal but it was a positive experience overall. I spent most of my time in Epcot on that trip which is not generally a family favourite for my crew. I went into every country in world showcase, and checked out pretty much everything in each pavilion. Our normal route though WS (not likely unlike others) Is a quick walking tour past most with a stop for the boat ride in Mexico, and Norway and maybe the movie in Canada. I really enjoyed seeing new things that I had not taken the time for on other trips. I also watched some shows I had never seen including Captain EO at Epcot (so bad you have to see it if you have not) and Nemo and the Lion King show at AK. I also took the train to the Eco-station at AK which was new. Ate food from restaurants that my family would never choose and took time to just sit on some of those benches that we are usually running past in order to "fit everything in". I say go for it. Your new memory of this solo day will surely turn into a cherished memory down the road just like your others!

You bring up some good points, Pooh Fan. Thank you!

In addition, are there any restaurants with bars in Disney that have TVs? I know ESPN cafe has some, but I'm wondering if there are any others.

I don't usually follow the same routine when I go on my solo trips vs family trips. I miss my mother in law terribly when we go (she passed away 3 years ago) and also miss when the 5 of us went together. Now our trips are normally just my husband and myself.

For my solo days I do a lot of shows and movies. Talk to strangers and eat mainly at counter service.

I think you would have a great time for a solo day trip! So much to do and with just one day to fill it should be a lot of fun! Try it once and I don't think you will be disappointed.

Thank you for the supportive words. I'm sorry for the loss of your mother in law. My loss was also three years ago. Knowing you've been able to go back and have a great time for solo trips gives me encouragement!
