    Default Resort CS Lunch

My husband and I are staying at Pop when we visit in October. We will be doing a dinner at Contempo and a breakfast at Captain Cook. I was wondering if anyone had a suggestion for somewhere to have lunch. I wanted to see what other resorts had to offer for CS and would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!!

Are you going to a park the day you "need" lunch? We always try and check out new places near the park we're at for the day such as a monorail resort when we're headed to MK, the Boardwalk when we're at Epcot or DHS.

Our lunch day is going to be a free day for us and we'll also have our own vehicle, so I'm really open.

Gasparilla Grill at the Grand Floridian has great food, we occasionally leave MK and take the Monorail over for a lunch and then head back to the park.

When we checked in at POP on Sunday we were talking with a CM about the new Animation resort and there food court. She said they got to sample some of the food offering and said it was really good. The some of the food offerings are new to the resorts. Hopefully I can sample so me this Sept on the next trip.

Since you have a car, consider The Mara at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. The food is better than the average counter-service fare, and it will give you the opportunity to explore Disney's finest, most beautiful resort.

The food court at POR is an excellent choice. The make-your-own pasta station is very tasty.

I have not been but have some friends who regulary enjoy the CS options at Coronado Springs and also the Dolphin/Swan resorts. Personally I have to agree with the previous post regarding AKL. The Mara really does have some great food offerings and the quality is a step above what I have experienced at most other CS locations on property.

Although I haven't eaten there since 2005 I really liked the Pepper Market at Coronado Springs, the selection is great.

We stayed at Wilderness Lodge in December and although the selection isn't huge, they have pretty good flatbreads and if I remember correctly they actually have real chicken strips, not processed nuggets.

We like the Mara at AKL and Roaring Forks at WL. Both have some great offerings. But if I had a car and time, I would head to DTD to Wolfgang Puck Express.

I like the Mara at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Beautiful surroundings and you get to see the animals from several vantage points throughout the lodge.

However, one of my favorite CS places is Cooke's of Dublin, attached to Raglan Road in Downtown Disney. Delicious food and a wide selection.

    Enjoy.

I agree with the above posters that our favorite counter service is the Mara. I absolutely love the african stew in a bread bowl. Picabu's at the Dolphin also has very good food. The Pepper Market at CSR is unique and we like the food, but some people don't like the way it is set up. I think any of these choices would be good.
