The wine tastings in France, Germany, Italy

Can anyone give me more info about the wine tastings in France, Germany, Italy. I read somewhere that you can buy a ticket at any one of those countries and get two, 2 oz samples of wine in each of those countries.

Please give me more details.

I know! I know!

My mom and I did the wine walk just 2 1/2 weeks ago. It's $20 for the 6 samples. You don't have to drink all the samples in one day and you don't have to drink both samples in each country at the same time. Just make sure you keep your receipt with the card because they do check it each time. You can choose which of the two samples of wine on the card you want to try in that country, they will stamp your card, and then you walk out with your sample. It was a lot of fun.

The one day, we went to France, got sandwiches at the bakery, then ran in, got one wine sample and went and had a really nice lunch with wine. That was the best time!

We found that typically we would get one fairly sweet wine and one would be a little drier. When you get the card, one side has a description of the wines and the other is where they stamp. It makes a great keepsake then, once you're done.

Just so you know, the "sample" is a 2 ounce pour. Exactly 2 ounces. I thought they were going to measure it with an eyedropper in Germany, they were so particular about it.

There's the wine walk mentioned, and each country also offers their own tasting, with four wines to sample. Typically, my husband and I will split the samples and do one country at a time, not usually all in the same day. But it's not really a lot of wine if you're splitting. They're small samples. Just enough to taste, know what you like, and maybe pursue buying a bottle to bring home.
