Tiw?
What exactly is the TIW card? Have seen it mentioned in several posts.

TIW is the Tables in Wonderland discount card that gives a 20% off discount off food and alcoholic beverages at most table service restaurants and select counter service (usually where there is a lack of table service options. Use of the card requires a mandatory 18% tip.
The card is available to passholders ($75), FL residents ($100) and I think is going to (or maybe already) be available for DVC members.
We use it and really love it.

Only on table service locations and lounges...

Correct, which makes it a great deal where the 18% is not assessed, like the counter service options at Animal Kingdom.

I think on a future trip I'll try to eat Flametree for breakfast lunch and dinner! I love that place!

Tables In Wonderland - a discount dining card available to AP holders and FL residents. You get 20% discount at most TS places and some (very few) CS. But, it covers the whole meal, including adult beverages.

Reports indicate they already are, $100 for the card.

We prefer TiW to the Dining Plan.

No. One discount per meal. That's pretty much Disney's rule across the board (accomodations, meals, etc.).

List of restaurants
Does anyone know where I can find a list of the restaurants? Particularly the CS restaurants. We are seriously considering buying the TIW as new DVC memebers(yay!!). I didn't realize that there were some CS restaurants included.
Thanks for your help!

I saw your other post regarding an annual pass, the annual pass discount is the better deal when purchasing the TiW card because then the TiW would be $75.00 instead of $100.00
The only list I have is the little booklet that comes with the card which is at home and I cannot find an updated list as of currently. But there has been reports that some locations do accept it even though it's not on the "participating list" they provide you.

I never looked into TiW... So, AP holders get the TiW card for $75 while DVC members pay $100... How much is the TiW discount??? I know DVC members get discounts at certain restaurants during certain days, and I will assume TiW can be used during the entire vacation.... AP holders also get discounts at certain restaurants without the TiW correct??? I believe, if I am not mistaken, the discounts are 10% with DVC membership and AP passes.... What is TiW's discount??? Doesn't seem worth it to buy the TiW card as a DVC member...

Discount for TiW is 20% and incredibly, to DBF and I astonishment, available at more restaurants than DVC or AP. We made a complete list of all three discounts, calculated, etc after I argued that TiW was the better deal and DBF refused to believe it, but caved in. After he saw the numbers, he couldn't disbute my argument anymore, not that he ever would have one anyway lol
But with TiW there's an automatic 18% gratuity on table services, which wasn't a big deal to us because that's the norm we use anyway, maybe 17% but the extra 1% didn't make us cringe and worked out much better.

There are only a few places where a DVC restaurant is better than the TiW discount. And then a few places that take AP and nothing else.
As mentioned, it's 20% off the total bill, good at pretty much all Disney owned and operated TS locations, and CS locations where a Disney Owned and Operated TS doesn't exist. For examplle, AK doesn't really have a TS location (well, Tusker House, but that's it). So, I think Pizzafari and Flame Tree take TiW. The values don't have TS locations either, so TiW is honored at the food courts. There are a few others I think.
I'm surprised that you never considered the TiW. If it's available to you, I would seriously consider it as an option. Even if I had to pay $100 for it, it would save us tons of money. We would normally get at least a couple trips out of it through careful/creative vacation planning, and often more. Even as a table for 2, we broke even well before the end of our first trip with it.

And don't forget, with the TIW you also get the 20% off of alcoholic beverages! The other do not offer that discount.
