Default remember new years eve at downtown disney?

Who remembers when they used to do new years eve every night at downtown disney? I used to love this as a kid, because mom would let me stay up until midnight that night we went to downtown disney and I would collect all the confetti from the sky.

I remember. I also remember several dozen other cool things at Downtown Disney that are no longer there.

Yes, I remember that. We had a few great nights there for the New Year's Eve parties.

I really miss that so much! I LOVED going there as a teenager through my early 20s. So many stories, so many good times, so many New Year's Eves. Now that I think of it, those fake New Year's Eves nights are better than my past 10 REAL New Year's Eves.

I used to love how they'd play music videos on giant tv screens out in the street too. I miss the old Pleasure Island...

I also miss the old Pleasure Island. I thought it always seemed like a great concept to have something the adults could do late at night.

    Ye-es!

Actually, my sister and I actually spent one New Year's Eve at Downtown Disney. It was 2000. The only problem was that the cold. Which is why I now spend New Year's Eve at the top of the Contemporary.

The food is also better at the Contemporary. The food was good at the food stations at Downtown Disney, but it is still better at the Contemporary. Which is why I'll be spending New Year's Eve 2013 at the Contemporary.

Yep I remember celebrating "new years" at pleasure island. It was extra special for me because Jan 1 is my birthday

I remember as a kid going downtown Chicago with my parents on New Years Eve. My Dad would tell me that all these people were helping celebrate my birthday...then one year I asked a guy standing next to us where my birthday present was

I wish I had known more about Pleasure Island when I was younger. I remember when I was about 13, my family asked a CM if it was ok to pass through to get to the West Side. I remember being really nervous because I thought of Pleasure Island as "adults only" and I was so afraid of getting in trouble just for passing through! It was during the day too, haha.

Also, I didn't know that you could get into Adventurers Club underage as long as you had a parent with you. My family went to Disney almost every single year, but I had it in my head that I would have to wait till I was 21 to experience PI. Finally turned 21, and got to see PI a month before it shut down. So glad I got to see it at least once!
If we can dream it, then we can do it.

I was able to experience PI New years Eve in 2001 with some people I met on the internet.

Otherwise known as 2001: An Intercot Odyssey.

We also enjoyed some time at The Adventurers Club.. sigh.
I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way.

While the concept of PI was great, it seemed that it really catered to the young (21-25) adults, and those trying desperately to pass themselves off as being 21 in order to gain admission.
I remember walking onto PI when I was about 36 and turning right around because we felt so out of place.
