    Default First timers

We're heading down January 8th and staying at Disney for the week. We're planning on going, for the VERY first time, to Universal.

We want to see the Harry Potter area and so are for sure getting tickets for IOA.

Should we even try the 2 park tickets? We won't be staying on property and only have a day to spare!

Can you purchase Express pass? and is it worth it?

Yes you can buy a 2 park express pass. We just went the last week of aug and did one park each day, but both were part days, gone by 3. Now that was aug. Could you do both parks in one day in January? I don't know, depends on the crowds. We did everything in both parks that we wanted easily, so we could have done 2 parks in one day and still have been out by 6 or 7, and we every ride except those in Seuss landing. We were also able to do wwohp several times with little wait, its worth it!

I'd recommend doing both parks. IOA has some great rides for sure but Studios has those classic attractions you know and love. I mean what would a trip to Universal be without riding Jaws?

I'd also recommend the Express Pass. In my mind it's definitely worth it.

Thanks for your responses. We'll definetly get the Express pass.

Still on the fence for the two parks...seems a lot to do in one day. We have one in our group who really wants to do Ollivander's and it seems that may be a time eater.

This is very good to know as we will eb in WDW but want to do a full day trip to US. Guess the exress pass is the way to go then, has anyone had a chance to compare with vs without the express pass?

Depending on the park hours, you can get a lot done during the day without Express. However, with that being said, Express will give you that extra protection to getting everything done that you want to.

During slow seasons, we close at 6 o'clock at IOA several times a week for special events and when the park hours are only 9 to 6, you don't have a lot of opportunity to get everything done. If you are talking summer hours of 8 to 9 or 10 then Express isn't necessarily needed.

The major thing to remember is Forbidden Journey does not take Express and neither does Ollivander's.

Hi PiratesLifeforme3, we will also be going to US for first time on Mon Nov. 7th. I already purchased 2 parks same day tix thru OTC, if we get there and it is going slower, can we purchase Express Pass separately? Apologies to smcd (my initials too) didn't mean to hijack your post.
