Sad to see it go. Our last trip was Sept 2010 and we road Barnstormer many times. We saw that work was already being started. My kids are older now so not as interested in the area, but will definitely visit the new Fantasyland when it opens.

Kind of sad to see it go too...back in 1994- on our daughters first trip as a two year old - we spent a lot of time there and got a lot of pics.... hope the expansion goes well.
There's a great big beautiful tomorrow

i was actually always a little underwhelmed by toontown. Even as a young child it wasn't too exciting. They used to have the Disney Afternoon live stage show which was kind of cool, and Minnie Moo, and a few other things but it was never really an "exciting" place in the park, more like a space filler in the corner. Mickeys House was cool, but you really couldn't do much in it except walk right through with everything roped off. Maybe it was just me

I never much cared for Toontown either. Only passed through to or from the train station.
I'm excited for what's next!

How sad.
Lots of great memories for us in that area.
I am so glad my wife's cousin got to take her little ones there in August. Seeing the rapt look on those little girls' faces was priceless.
In my opinion, change isn't necessarily good.
Change is just that, change. It can be good, but just as easily can be bad.
Based on Disney's track record when it comes to change over the last 15 yrs or so, this could definitely go either way...
35+ trips to WDW since 1985...and it never gets old.
-
Sad to see it go just a couple of reasons.
-Lots of memores of my three little guys running around Donald's boat getting soaked.
-I will miss the teardrop and the unusual characters who came out for meet n greets there.
Loads of trips since 1974...

I'm very pleased that Toontown Fair is finally being replaced. It never fit in with the rest of the park in my opinion. The atmosphere was lacking a certain something.
I do understand why some people, especially those with kids, liked going there, but I believe that the new Dumbo area will be much better. Just the simple fact that there will be two Dumbo hubs as opposed to one is a huge plus and the kiddie coaster will still be there under a different name and theme. I'm confident that those who are sad about the removal of Toontown Fair will find plenty to enjoy in the new area.
I'm a dad! My daughter, Eisley, was born on December 17, 2010.

The Dumbo area will be alright. I am concerned with the northern part of Storybook Circus, the area where Pixie Hollow was supposed to go. There will be absolutely nothing in that area, other than the same dull, boring tents that currently reside there. No ride. Nothing.
Let's stop defending mediocrity out of Disney and hold Disney to the higher standard they set up themselves.

What's nice for us, is that we have so many pictures of DD at Toontown through her various ages.

I'll kind of miss Toontown, but it was never our favorite part of the park. It always seemed so congested while we were there, and we always go during slow times. I don't think our girls will be upset, and I'm sure they'll enjoy the new area when it's done. I'm not all that crazy about circus themes, but I'm sure Disney will do a great job.
-
Don't lament the loss of Goofy's Barnstormer yet. I do believe they are going to re-theme it and include it in the new area. Also, people, don't hold your breath that Disney will move Mickey and Minnie's house "somewhere else on property." Don't mean to burst your bubble, but it just ain't gonna happen.
"I wanted something alive, something that could grow. Something I can keep plussing with ideas. You see? The park is that. Not only can I add things but even the trees will keep growing. The thing will get more beautiful every year."
Walt Disney

I'm excited about the additions. I'm sorry to see the mouse house go. I do hope they are going to relocate it, but since I haven't read anything that says that, I presume it's gone.
Goofy's barnstomer is staying put, it's being re-themed to the great goofini or something circus-y.

It is also the only roller coaster that is really MY speed...glad to hear there are at least rumors of it being re-themed and staying.

Not rumors, it's fact. It will be re-themed the Great Goofini, and fit in with the circus theme planned for that area.
