Getting to WDW Speedway from MK?

In the planning stages of a trip sooner than planned. Hopefully it pans out, and here's my question for now...

I plan to drive an IRL car at the Speedway as part of the Indy Racing Experience. I wanted to do this while at MK, so planned to go in the morning, and then over to the track when the IRL teams take over around 4. Do I drive the short bit to the track, take a shuttle bus, or something else? I am going to be ending my day at MK too, so the way back also has to be factored in. (I will be in a rental car, as always.)

The only thing that is throwing me is the fact that the track and MK are in the same parking area (sort of).

Unless it's changed a shuttle picks you up at the Kennel/Lost and Found building which is at the Ticket and Transportation Center. I have no idea what the schedule is. I hope this helps a little.

You just wait at the kennel and they will go every 15 or so mins and pick you up.
