Disney Gift Card Questions

I understand Disney dollars are no longer available, but can the Disney gift cards be used in the same way? To pay for rooms at the resorts, park admission, in the merch stores in the parks? Can the value to be added to the cards? I'd like to give them to my DD and fam for Christmas and then add money throughout the year leading up to our visit in Feb 2012.

Yes, you can use the cards pretty much anywhere. Not sure about adding to the value of them. Hopefully someone else can answer that question.

I have done this for my kids. If you purchase it at the disney store they can add values at any time. I would take any singles and change and add it to my card at the mall. The other cards you get from grocery stores etc...are only face value.

I just ordered mine through the Disney Store online, and they seem to be even more accepted than the Disney Dollars. You can pay for park tickets, hotels & just about anywhere in the park that accepts credit cards.
