    Smile Dinner with an Imagineer

Ok I don't usually write any trip reports, but just wanted to let everyone know about my family's experience with Dinner with an Imagineer. We did dinner on April 20th at The Flying Fish, there was my family, me, DH and my three sons(14, 16 and 18), a family of three and another couple along with Wyatt Winters the Imagineer. All I can say is WOW, this was one of the greatest experiences we have had at Disney. Wyatt was excellent, he explained his job, answered questions, at least the ones he could and basically it became a 2 1/2-3 hour discussion about Disney. The food at The Flying Fish didn't disappoint and I know we will definitely do this again. I know it seems expensive however, for dinner and entertainment my DH and I didn't think it was really expensive, heck taking out three sons to dinner, movies and snacks costs a ton and this was much better. We did pay extra for a Keepsake Plate which Wyatt personalized but again well worth the price.

Thank you for posting such a wonderful experience with your family. This is something that once DS is a bit older we'd love to do, and I've not seen a lot of reports on it.

I'm so glad that it was such a success - and that it will be a repeat experience for you!

I am so very interested in this! Tell me, did you have your choice of restaurants? How many people were all together? Did everyone have a chance to talk? Would kids (ages 16, 14, and 10) like this? How did you book this? so many questions, but I'd like to book this for my family for August or September.

Sounds like it was fun! I've been toying with the idea of doing the lunch at Brown Derby for an upcoming trip. I think it's something my husband would really enjoy - he likes knowing how things work and is pretty creative himself!

First, we were going to do the lunch at Brown Derby a couple of years ago but cancelled due to illness. We stayed club level at the Poly and asked about dining with an Imagineer and this was the only one available so we took it, so I know they have lunch at Brown Derby and dinner at Flying Fish. There were ten people plus the Imagineer and I believe ten is the limit. Everyone had plenty of opportunity to ask questions and talk, one of the couples at out table had done the lunch before and the wife was great about encouraging the quiet people at the table to talk. I think kids younger than mine could absolutely have a blast provided they are mature enough to sit, listen and engage in a long conversation. I know my 16 year old, who is more hyper than my others would have had a harder time at 10 but my 14 year old could have handled this dinner at 6, I hope this makes sense. I can't recommend this opportunity enough, as I said this will probably become like Hoop Dee Doo for my family and we'll wind up signing up every trip.

No I had to call. For when we are going, they are not booking dinners at the FF, just lunch at BD. We are traveling the last week of October. I made our reservations right at 180 days and got our family of 4 in w/o issue!
