We just got back from the Boardwalk Villas the 4 of us staying in a refurbished 1 bedroom villa room #2126 on cash not points. This is the first time we have stayed here. We have stayed at many of the other WDW hotels. Our only other experience with the villas is at Old Key West. We loved this resort. In comparison to Old Key West, the room size was significantly smaller. As my 21 year old son said, you could actually live in an OKW villa because it is so roomy. However he also said the BWV was now his new favorite resort. The reason is location, location, location!
As other people have posted the hallways are long. There is an extremely long hall with many spikes off it where there are hallways with more rooms. Unfortunately the only elevators we saw where close to the lobby. There really should be another bank of elevators down near the other front entrance that leads over to where the bus stops are. We were lucky being on the second floor with all adults in our party. If you are on the upper floors, have young children with strollers, you will need to walk a lot further than maybe necessary to get to the elevators. Because we had no issues with the stairs we always walked to the Studios and EPCOT.
Our room overlooked the quiet pool. The furnishings were all new. There was an issue with the faucet that had not been fixed in the refurbishment. The handle of one of the hot water faucets kept falling off. Someone else may have gotten upset over it we lived with it. The washer/dryer combo was nothing like the full size washer and dryer at OKW. At OKW it was a full size dryer which worked very well. The stacked dryer took hours to dry anything. Because we paid cash not points for the room we had daily housekeeping. Somehow or other they would sometimes take all the towels even those we hung up and left us with maybe 2 towels for 4 adults. I finally took to washing our own towels, just not worth the trouble. We did leave generous tips so not sure why this kept happening.
We definitely would stay at the BWV again.
