    Default Our Return Trip: Arrival

    The cast of characters;

    DW, DS (13), DDS (twins 10), our good friends DH2, DW2, their DD (6) and me

    Arrival 1/20:

    We had all travelled to WDW before and had been planning our return trip for 2 years. We were forced to reschedule on 2 occassions and this added to the anticipation for this trip

    We had a flight out of Philadelphia on SWA arriving in WDW before dinner. I stopped at the deli and bought sandwiches before leaving for the airport

    We made plans to meet at the gate or perhaps the closest airport bar because the dads (DH2 and Me) are not big fans of flying. A beer. wine and french fries before the flight made for a happy group

    We boarded and had a very smooth flight to Orlando. We had our own picnic lunch on the flight with the sandwiches I brought from the deli

    We were booked in the Grand Floridian Concierge. We were greeted at the hotel entrance by a bellman and front desk member and they escorted us to adjoining rooms in the Sugarloaf building. The entire check-in process was handled in our rooms and we were soon in the lounge with light snacks

    We had dinner reservations in 1900 Park and this was a great start to our trip. The character interaction in 1900 Park was outstanding. In addition to autographs the characters were performing throughout the room and the atmosphere was electric. I highly recommend this character meal

    One of the adults didn't feel great and we called room service. We were sent ginger ale, tea, crackers and chicked broth AT NO CHARGE. This was so very considerate

    It was soon off to sleep with plans for day one breakfast at Chef Mickey's and then the Magic Kingdom

    You're off to a wonderful start! We've stayed at the Grand Floridian before but never at concierge level so am looking forward to hearing about your experience! Hope no-one is ill!

    The GF concierge is outstanding. I will post more details in upcoming trip reports. We found it well worth the money and the cast members went out of their way to provide spectacular service

    Your kindness is appreciated and I am happy to report that everyone feels great. DW had a post flight headache and it is probably because she DIDN'T partake at the airport bar

    I can imagine that anticipation was high since you cancelled on two previous occasions. Glad to hear you made it without a hitch to Orlando (thank you wine/beer/french fries!) and that your first evening was pleasant. Thank goodness the adult's headache was just that. Looking forward to your Chef Mickey's / Magic Kingdom experience with the whole crew. Thanks for sharing!
