Sounds like it's the material they used to make them. I would guess it would lessen over time but don't think you can actually get rid of the smell.

A lot of plastic and rubber toys have a "smell" when you first buy them. It will lessen over time.

We have a Tempur Pedic mattress. Let me tell you, that thing STUNK for about the first 48 hours after we had it delivered. It totally went away, though. Just chemicals used in the processing of some items give them a "gasoline" type smell.

Nothing you can "wash off". Just gotta let it air out.

Thanks for all your help. I contacted guest service for the disneystore.com and they are going to replace them for me. Some how I don't think that will help but will see and thanks for all your advice.

I doubt it will help. The displays at the stores at Disneyland Resort that sell them smell pretty intense too. I can always tell I'm coming up to a display (even if it's facing away from me).

I'm sorry the smell bothers you. I actually like it, but I also think gasoline smells good sometimes too.

Maybe let them sit near an open window/porch and air for a couple of days.
