Why not? People who don't get to go to Disney can now purchase some of the great merchandise. Grant it, it is another way to try and make more money for them, but I do have a problem with it.

I hope they do this in the UK, as there is some stuff (kitchenare etc) that I would love but there is no way I can get it home currently

I am guessing they are trying to rid themselves of all the overstock they have been ending up with since the economy problems and the lack of quality original merchandise. It will also allow guests a chance to purchase an item they forgot to get after they return home.

They need a little more variety. Good point about the heavy stuff. We were on the go constantly and I can't remember half of what we did see.

While that isn't a bad idea/point, this has been in the works for quite sometime - and I don't mean a few months...

I am so glad this option is available.

I've been saving my Visa Reward Dollars to purchase a big fig Mickey in the tux. I was at Disney a couple of weeks ago and he was no where to be found.

I was only there a couple of days and checked everywhere but HS. At the store in DTD, they gave me a number to call to have it delivered to me with a $25 delivery fee.

When I got home, I checked online and because I was spending more than $89, I got shipping for $5!

Needless to say, I'm quite happy right now (he came in the mail yesterday).

The box he came in was huge. I didn't have to worry about lugging him around (in the parks or on the bus). I also didn't have to stress about how to load him up for the trip home.

I think it's a great idea... I remember buying the Jack Skellington big fig back in oct. 2003 at Disney Studios... one of the kids had to walk.... due to Jack riding in their stroller! This option to buy once we got home, would have been much easier!

I LOVE this! In fact, I wish they offered a bigger selection of stuff . I make gift baskets for my kids when we go to disney, so this is a great way to see what I am buying before I get it. If you call disney merchandising, they have no picture to help describe an item to you, so you run the risk of having to return something that wasn't quite what you were looking for.
