    Default Our excursions- any thoughts?

Hi all, we are counting down to the DVC Member cruise on Sept 13 and since this is our first Disney cruise, I wondered what your experience is with some excursions we booked: parasailing, glassbottom boat, and the jet ski guided tour thing. We waited a little late in the game to make the reservations but these seemed to appeal to both our tastes when at the beach. Any thoughts?

Assuming you're referring to excursions at Castaway Cay, there's an existing thread about the glass bottom boat.

I haven't done the parasailing or jet ski tour yet, but I'd sure love to do so soon.

DH just did parasailing at Castaway Cay last Tuesday. He LOVED it! It is double rider, so if you go alone, you will be paired with someone. DH said to tell you to make sure to bring a little cash to tip your excursion host (if you want). Our Cruise Director said that we did not have to bring any cash and DH (along with the other excursion passengers) were very embarassed when the excursion operators stated they accepted tips and NO ONE had cash. You couldn't charge those to your room.

We enjoyed CC so much! JMO, don't book your day too full!

DH did parasailing at 9:30AM while the kiddos and I went to the beach. He joined us around 10:30 or so and we all went to the sting ray excursion for 11:00. The sting ray excursion lasted an hour and then we walked around the island for a little bit. We had lunch and then did some snorkeling. We were back to the ship around 4:00...as were a lot of the passengers.

I hope to have a trip report up really soon, but if you have any questions, feel free to PM me!!

My husband and daughter did the jet ski tour. They went out to a sand bar and actually saw some sharks in the water as well. You keep a steady pace with the rest of the tour group, but my husband said on the way back in, the front tour guide allowed them to go a bit faster if they wanted. They gave it two thumbs up.
