Yeah, I once got the same $99 rate at the Polynesian - a long, long time ago. Of course, $99 was quite a bit for a hotel room in those days.

I think my favorite was the bunk bed rooms at Wilderness Lodge for $135 a night. This was an AP rate in late summer, back when they didn't charge extra for weekends and they didn't charge extra for bunk bed rooms. And, we got a view upgrade! I'm thinking this was in 2005. (also got the same rate at AKL that trip for a similar room, but we didn't get an upgrade)

I thought that the 49.00 AP rate I got last year at the POP was awesome.I told my wife that it was cheaper than staying home,so we went for 5 nights for about 300.00 with tax and a great SWA rate 289.00 round trip for two.

I think it was back in 2005 or 2006. They offered a 5 day package for 2 for about $550 if my memory serves me correctly. We were at PoP!, had single park tickets and dining for free! Tip was included so the only thing that brought the credit card out once we got to WDW was the souvigners that we bought!
I totally worked the dining package and totaled up the receipts at the end of our stay - they came to just over $500 for the 2 of us!
It is my dream to one day pilot the monorails around the Seven Seas Lagoon....where's my star!!!

I think free dining the 1st few years it was out was great. We paid $119 a night for our room at POFQ, but we got the old dining plan (snack, counter service, and a sit down w/ appetizer, entree, dessert, tip and tax all included!).
This year isn't too bad either, we got a bounce-back offer - so we're staying at POP for 10 nights/11 days w/ free dining for $1602!

Hi;
Do you think Disney Visa holders get offered better deals ( via snail or email) than those that just wait for their Disney Destinations?

As of late, it seems we Disney Visa holders merely get first dibs on a lot of the deals for WDW.
For example, when they usually announce free dining for the Fall, Disney Visa holders get a 3 day jump on the public.
The result? You usually have your choice of hotels before they book up. For example, last year I was able to get a standard room at POP during this 3 day early bird DV period. My mother waited until the afternoon of the first public day and she could only get moderates for the dates she was interested in.
However, Disney Visa isn't always the best about announcing it (there have been times I've received the mailing the last day or the day after the DV period is over). I usually check sites like this one and another one out there that is JUST for Disney discounts to find out about the newest DV offers. Checking the DV site doesn't hurt either.
I have seen unique deals for DL that were better than the public (or at least available to DV holders earlier than the public) in the past, and they also certainly have better deals for some Disney events like Broadway and Disney on Ice.
