    Default POP building

We just booked a week long trip at the POP. We have never stayed there and are trying to figure out which building to request. We want to stay close to the lobby and bus pick up. Any suggestions? We are going to have 4 adults and 4 kids ranging in age from 6-12.

We are staying at the All Star Music resort and requested (and paid for) the preferred room. Those are nearest the front desk/food court/bus stop etc. It says on here that buildings #4 and #5 of the Classic 60s are the preferred.

The only foolproof way to get a decent room, especially at a large resort like Pop, is to get a preferred room for something like an extra $10 a night. That's what I did last month, and my feet were very grateful.

The 60s buildings are the closest followed by the 50s and 70s buildings. Here's a link to the property map. You can go with a "preferred room", or just ask at check in about getting one of these 3 buildings. You can also fax in a request 3-5 before you arrive and they might assign you to a room in one of these buildings.

60's building 4 first floor is our fav. We request it and stay in in every time we go to Pop. It is right in front of the Hippy Dippy pool, directly in front of tables and right next to laundry and the bar...who could ask for more.

Oh yeah, very close to the lobby, bus, and food court.

Enjoy your stay at the Pop!!!

All but 1 of my stays at POP were in the 50s, which i liked. they arent far from the main building, have its own pool and the backside of some buildings are quieter w a view of the lake and Illuminations somewhat.

Like others have said, getting a preferred room is the only way to make sure you will get a room close to the food court and transportation. However, when we went in September we noticed that the area in the 60's section was ALWAYS loud. It didn't seem to matter what time of day it was. Because of this we were grateful for not getting a perferred room. We sent a fax over a week ahead of time requesting a room as close to the food court was possible and we were given a room in the 50's section. It was a pretty quick walk from the main lobby area and it was quiet. We had a view overlooking the lake and the 50's section also had it's own pool but there never seemed to be many people in it.

If you're going during a busy time then I suggest getting the perferred room just in case because I did walk around the whole property and there were some areas that we very far from the main lobby. However, if you're going during a value time then just send in a room request and hope for the best. I hope you have a good trip!

I couldn't agree more with paying for a preferred room at the Pop. I stayed there in November for the first time and we were put in the 80's section. It was a very long walk to the Food Court and bus stop. I would never stay there again unless I paid for a preferred room. The resort is very spread out.

We paid for a preferred room & were right next to the food court/main area. Just so you know, it's a LONG walk to the parking area if you have a ton of luggage!

It's not as much the entire section as it is the building. We were on the Walkman side of the 80s and it was maybe 3 minutes to get to the bus if we took a straight shot through the 90s parking lot. But if you are on the Roger Rabbit side closer to the 80s lot, you have a longer walk. Our previous room in the 70s was much further away because we were on a far end by the lake.

You know, I've seen the flip side to this as well! Three times we've stayed in bldg #4, 60's section facing Hour Glass Lake & loved it! Last year, we scheduled a last minute trip didn't even try to request a preferred room, as we weren't even able to get on property until day 3! We ended up in bldg # 10, 70's section & loved it! SOOOOOOOO much closer to the bus stop than the preferred room in the 60's section, because we were able to walk out on the sidewalk that brought us to that section of the parking lot & at the far end of Classic Hall where the bus stops are located! I'd say the walk to the food court & The Hippy Dippy Pool were about the same! I know we just got extremely lucky but it really worked out for us! I will definitely be requesting a preferred room this year just to be on the safe side, but I'm really considering trying the 50's section, because it sounds like it might be a little closer & so many people recommend it!

We paid for preferred and had the 70's building. I really think paying preferred without requesting a building will get you close. I would opt to request a first floor room over building request. That way you are close and don't have to back track to the elevator with strollers OR waste energy going up and down stairs. Save that energy for the parks!!
