    Default Broken Rides

Have you ever been on a ride and have to be evacuated because it broke down?
I was on TOT in august and they had to come and get us and send us out a secret door and down the 'express elevator'

Tomorrowland Transit Authority broke down on me one time. Which wasn't too bad since it was only 75 outside and when it stopped we had a nice view of Tomorrland. We were led down the track and out a door in the part where you can see the Buzz Lightyear ride... down the stairs and out the side of a building..

Oh, and all day fastpass for all of Magic Kingdom..

Test Track is the only one I can think of. It was in the "lateral force" turns sections, just before the narrowly averted crash with the truck.

I got stuck at the top of TOT once. The work lights came on, and everyone on the elevator was expecting to be escorted off. But all of the sudden, the car dropped! With no warning! And no sound cues!

They got the ride going again, but didn't tell us, the guests on the ride. Boy, that was the scariest ride ever on TOT.

Never had to walk off a ride in Disney World, but in Disneyland we got stuck on Alice in Wonderland and had to walk out of there.

    That was cool!

When ToT first opened, the first time DH and DS rode it, the elevator stopped with the doors opened. After waiting about 10 seconds, the doors shut and the elevator lowered very slowly. DH and DS thought it was part of this new ride, until a CM pried the doors open, took them downstairs a backway and they got to ride again immediately. That's when DH and DS found out what the ride REALLY was like.
I've had it happen just once, on UoE. Just before the end the tape broke or something, so we all had to get out of the benches and leave, with an unfinished show on our minds. Wierd!
I've been stuck on Spaceship Earth for up to 1/2 hour, but never evacuated.

Space Mountain for us. Its happened a couple of times. Waited in the car until a CM came who took us down via the cat walks. Actually quite interesting to see the mountain with the lights on. Just a lot of steel really.

I have only been escorted off the ride once due to it breaking down. That was the Universe of Energy we were in the last room and they had just asked the final Jeopardy question when the ride broke So the CM told us the answer "Brain Power" and we had to go out one of the side exits.

I was also on TOT when it broke down. We had gone up to the first door where we see the people and the window flying at us. Then the doors closed and we were stuck in the pitch black for 5 minutes. It was pretty strange my friend got scared since she had never been on before and didn't know this wasn't normal. I told her the ride was broke she thought I was messing with her. Finally the lights came on and we very slowly came back down and they had to go below the ride to open the restraints and we were let on a different elevator

My father, sister, and I got stuck on Spaceship Earth for about half an hour. Believe me though, it felt like SO much longer. We had to listen to the same thing over and over and over again. My poor mom was stuck outside with my younger brother and sister waiting for us. She was so angry when we finally got off of that ride. This was a few years ago.

DH and I got stuck on Test Track for about fifteen minutes this past June. We were in the cooling section. We were laughing because the rest of my family got stuck in the car in the hot section.

Can you imagine getting trapped on It's A Small World? I love that ride but I don't know if I'd like staying in the same spot for half an hour listening to the song over and over and over again. Haha.

On our last trip ( just passed, Sept 27- Oct 4 ) we had to get off of Toy Story Mania, we were about 3/4 through it when it stopped. ( after waiting in the 40 minute stand by line ) luckily, we already gotten fastpasses, and on the way out the door we were given return ride passes.

I also had to walk off of ENERGY in Epcot a few years ago too- that was weird, we walked past all of the dinosaurs and plants.

Last August it was Rockin Roller Coaster that we had to walk out of when it broke.

Back in 1977 or 78 I was stuck in It's a Small World for about a half hour. It was pure torture, listening to that song over and over and over and over again. I like the ride, but to this day I need to force myself to ride IASW.

Once a few years back I was on HM and they had to escort us out. My fam and I were stuck in the graveyard scene. They had to turn the lights on of course and so it was pretty cool to see what the "ghosts" are really like.
28 times to WDW and still going since 1984!! Most recent visit: November/December 2011...Far too long since my last visit! :'(

Personally, I believe it didn't start with a mouse. It started with a man that had one of the greatest imaginations in this world.

That's exactly where it broke down on me. Either it did twice, or could we have been there at the same time?

    I feel your pain.
Same thing happened to me back in the 80's. The continous song loop got to me as well. To keep from going completely mad I started counting the change in the water. For a while there I cringed anytime we walked past the IASW entrance. It wasn't till our children were born that I could bring myself to ride it again.

Never been escorted off of any attractions, but we have been sitting on a few broke-down before. HM sitting backwards "falling out the window" for 10-15 min, Splash Mt approaching the final fall (almost to the top) 10-15 min. Rcc..wasn't actually on the ride, but waiting in the "alley" area to board. Ride vehicles and music all stopped. From our view point we could see right up into the initial take-off tunnel when the lights came on. I can only imagine what the people up IN the ride were experiencing. Those of us who wanted to leave were allowed out the "chicken" exit and given a return rider pass.

Only once, we had to be escorted off of Kali River Rapids a few years back. Everyone was jammed up at the very end of the ride. Obviously huh? Where else could the ride breakdown. LOL

    Default Only once

We were riding the Blue Line in Magic Kingdom, and we got stuck in the tunnel where the City of Tomorrow model is.

Problem was this: there were brushfires in the area, and lots of smoke floating around the Magic Kingdom. That tunnel was just sucking in smoke, making it very unpleasant. We had to be walked off the ride by Castmembers with flashlights.
