Bringing Food past Security Gate @ Airport?

Are you allow to bring past the Security Gate @ Airport? I know you can't bring drinks (liquids). But can I bring food from home to eat @ the airport or airplane. Airport food is so expensive and doesn't taste good.

I would to bring some food and have to throw it out. Would I need to pack seperately to show them? or just in carry-on luggage is fine?

You can bring food, snacks. Just no liquids, gels, etc. It is much more of a hassell though. You'd be surprised that most airports have much better food options that you may think. I would put in a separate plastic bag but I wonder how you'll keep it cool if it needs it.

MCO (Orlando International Airport has signs at their food kioks outside of security that state that yes you can take food items through security but no liquids like soda. It's all in pictures with the international sign of a red cirle with a diagonal cross through it. I thought it was considerate that they placed the signs where you could see them BEFORE you made your purchase of the Gigantic cup of soda and in a way that even non-English speakers could grasp.

you can buy food after you pass through security but yes my mom always brings a sack lunch for my niece when flying her home from Cali. She always brings snacks for herself as well and has never had problems. She likes to keep chewing to avoid air problems.
