Alive and Well sort of
Well I'm sure some have been wondering what happened to me and others could probably care less
Well I had a really bad allergic reaction to the antibiotic the dentist prescribed for me which consisted of rash over most of my body So after a few days of Benadryll and rest I am almost back in the swing of things.

Glad you are feeling better JP. Since I know exactly what you went through, I'm glad you were able to take the benadryl and get it under control. Had to be an awful week for you.
I haven't been so lucky since I react to the benadryl pills and now been almost 3 months for me, but they think mine was the steroids I had to take for my ears.

Welcome back cookie
Now if I was to take benadryl pills it would make me very very sleepy to the point that I have to take a nap.

Poor JP!
I know exactly how you feel right now. I got a cut on my foot on vacation and it got infected and I am allergic to the antibiotic I was given as well. Oh, did I mention I am allergic to Benadryl as well?
Aveeno oatmeal bath is your friend right now. Trust me on that...

Glad you are better. I haven't been around much myself, but it's because of having had company for a while. And yes, I do care!

So, an inquiring mind who's currently taking an antibiotic and new pain med's for swollen/infected lymph nodes (at least that's all we hope it is) and who has suddenly become itchy from the top of my head to just below my ankles....
1) What antibiotic were you on?
2) What exactly did this rash look like? Just redness, or were there hives or red bumps that look like mosquito bites?
Jus' wonderin'....
Oh yeah, glad yer back!

I was taking Clindamycin
The rash was kind of a combination of general redness that almost looked like a bad sunburn and some areas where you could see little bumps where the rash wasn't in full bloom.
A combination of not taking the antibiotic anymore Benadryll every 4 hours and a topical Benadryll Gel helped alot. I would also recommend athe Aveno Bath that Hockey mentioned. And lots and lots of water to help flush out the antibiotic.

Gosh, that stinks JP. I'm glad your feeling better. I was wondering what happened to you.
We're you terribly itchy??
I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way.

Glad you are better and welcome back Jeff

In my case I'm not sure if it was the antibotic or the 2 different sets of steroids. Mine are like JP's where they are just red spots that raise up (like bites I guess, thought they were flea bites originally). They go down after about 24 hours and then the next set come out. Lately they seem to be heat sensitive. I've had this since middle of May. (I missed Varcity's visit unfortunately then).
Bad part for me is that 2nd set of steroids messed up my stomach bad and then I had to take stomach medicine for a month. Ear doctor still has me on claritin for my ears.
I found that topical benadryl was so greasy. That Aveno Bath and the lotion have been all I've been using. Thanks goodness you told me about that stuff early on JP. Main thing is for me not to itch. If I don't itch, they don't get massive. All my fingernails have been cut down to nothing!
