    Default Dinner dress code

I will be going on the Wonder next week and would like to know if any one has an idea of what the dinner dress code is? I was on the Magic a couple of years ago but do not remember what we wore to dinner. Is golf shorts, collared shirt and sneaks going to get me into dinner? Any information would be greatly appriciated. Thanks, Andy

    Exclamation

    Nope, no shorts.

    From DCL website:

What should I wear to dinner?

Dining Dress requirements vary by venue or theme night on your cruise. In general, most meals are "Cruise Casual" -- no shorts, swimwear or tank tops. Most cruises also have special theme nights with additional attire requirements. Here's a breakdown of these events by cruise itinerary.

    On 3-night cruises:

First night: cruise casual — no shorts, swimwear or tank tops
Second night: pirate or tropical deck party
Final night: "dress-up night" — jacket for men, dress or pantsuit for women

    On 4-night cruises:
First night: cruise casual — no shorts, swimwear or tank tops
One pirate or tropical night (deck party)
One "dress-up night" — jacket for men, dress or pantsuit for women
Final night: cruise casual — no shorts, swimwear or tank tops

Dress for dinner at Palo on all cruises:
    Men: dress shirt or jacket
    Women: dress or pantsuit

I just got back and the dress code was shorts and mostly shirts with a collar and sneaks for dinner. No one seemed to ever get turned away no matter what they wore.

I can't believe that they let people into the dining room with shorts and sneakers on. It has changed alot since we were on 4 years ago.
If that's the case it will make my packing alot easier in Oct. Dress shoes are heavy and take up alot of room in luggage.

Has anyone ever been turned away from the dining room because of what they were wearing?

I haven't seen it happen in the dining rooms, but I sure wish they were. But that's just my opinion.

They will refuse you entrance to Palo, however, if you are not dressed properly.

    Default Dinner dress code

I read that a dress coat was necessary for men. Is that true or is a polo shirt or dress shirt and tie acceptable?

Dress jackets are "suggested", but in actual practice a decent polo or dress shirt is acceptable. Just remember - no jeans or shorts!

Our friends just got back from a four day cruise and said there were tons of people at dinner in shorts I guess they just don't enforce any of their dress codes anymore.

I have honestly not seen it posted anywhere that guests were turned away from dining. I imagine if they deem your clothes completely unacceptable, then the restaurant manager will address the situation, but otherwise, I don't think they do enforce dress codes. I know we've eaten in Palo many times and the majority of men are not wearing suit jackets, or even dress shirts with ties.

    I tried that.

But my Tigger footie pajamas (complete with bouncy tail) didn't fool them for a minute.

We just came back from the four night and there were many, including me, who wore shorts. We had the 8:15 seating so I scoped out the earlier seatings, saw a lot of guys wearing shorts, and did the same thing. I didn't feel at all out of place. When you get your "ticket" that shows your dining rotation it lists what is prohibited in the various restaurants and shorts aren't on the list.
Wore sport coat with tie to Palo and was fine.
