I was wondering about Shannon and Derik myself, then while watching DWTS the other night, I caught a commercial for The Bachelor, and it suddenly hit me. DWTS has a better couples success rate than Bachelor does! Maybe The Bachelor needs to rethink its format.

I thought they might be, too. They look like they might be about the same age, but they are 12 years apart! My mom is a few years older than my dad (not that much) and they have been married 43 years. Derek is a heck of a lot cuter than her ex-husband, he was scary looking.
Speaking of The Bachelor, Lorenzo Lamas daughter is on it. I really like the girl from Florida (of course LOL)!

There you go--just make them work out together doing ballroom dance for 8 hours a day and you would see very quickly who would be compatible and who would not! And it would be a lot more interesting than the silly hot tub parties.

I really wanted to smack Samantha Harris, she kept badgering Shannon and Derek. I still like them, in my top three. Jason was so funny, he was great as usual but was counting the steps. I'm so excited Apollo and Julianne are doing a dance in an upcoming show, yay!! My favorite all time couple! Marlee is amazing, she dances so well, she is just such an inspiration.
The Bachelor, hysterical, the Florida girl hired actors to portray her parents, the lady was hitting on the poor guy. He looked so blindsided and took it well. Lorenzo Lamas looked like he had quite a bit of work done but not as bad as Priscilla.

Didn't you just want to tell Mario and Karina to "go get a room" lol?
Wonder who gets the encore dance tonight...I hope it is Tony and Marissa, she is definitely the Most Improved of the group!
And Samantha Harris needs to remember what channel she is on....Mondays and Tuesdays is ABC, the rest of the week is E!...she needs to not do the "national enquirer" questions on DWTS lol! Everyone sitting behind Derek and Shannon looked uncomfortable for them!

I really liked Fabian as well and wondered if they hand picked him specifically for Marlee. He seemed to have a pretty good grasp of how to communicate with her and lead her by touch. He seems to have a really kind soul...at least that is the perception I got.
Etdyna looked down right scared last night....I think she was convinced she was going home!

I was glad Shannon and Derek or Edyta and Jason did not go home last night.
I am looking forward to seeing Maksim and Mel and Julianne and Apollo on the upcoming show.

Me too! I do hope he returns.
And I've read a little more on Derek and Shannon's 'fit', and I just have to remind myself that he's young (although she can't use that excuse). I see it wasn't highly thought of by others either.
I just don't think Shannon's that good, or at least not as good as she thinks she is. Very stiff, and I don't care for her personality either.

Bummer.
From People.com:
DWTS Cristian de la Fuente Injured on Dancefloor
Cristian de la Fuentes samba came to halt Monday night and the Chilean soap star was sent to the hospital after suffering a severe muscle cramp in his arm on the Dancing with the Stars dancefloor.
It hurts, de la Fuente told cohost Samantha Harris backstage, holding an ice pack to his left forearm. It hurts the arm and it hurts that I couldnt do it, you know, its tough.
Still, he put on a strong showing. Seconds after hurting himself, the actor faced the judges, insisting Im fine, and clutched his arm in obvious pain before going to commercial break. During the dance he had tried to shake off the injury, but he pulled back from lifting his pro partner Cheryl Burke off the floor.
When we were dancing I fell back into his arms and I heard something crack, Burke told PEOPLE between tears after the show. I am so worried. He is not a wuss. He tried to finish the dance.
The EMT on site diagnosed a severe muscle cramp, cohost Tom Bergeron told the audience.
Meanwhile, the judges, who gave the couple straight 7s (21/30) for their performance, had encouraging words. I really appreciate you went the whole round and you were there for Cheryl, judge Carrie Ann Inaba said, while Bruno Tonioli told him: I hope youre coming back because you are a great performer.

Hooray!!! Bye, bye Shannon. I can't help but think their actions last week hurt them in the voting this week.
I think it's going to be hard for Christian to continue, and Cheryl is going to have to do some tricky/clever choreography to cover his injury. Can't wait for next week!

I was happy to see Shannon go too. I didn't care for their outbursts last week. Although, I was hoping Karina would go. I just don't like her; but I do like Mario. I will miss Derek.

Does anyone know what the piece of paper is that Carrie Ann hands to someone behind her after every dance? I've just noticed it in the past few weeks, and it's bugging me.

Wow, Cheryl did a great job on the choreography and they really pulled it off.
