I would probably not stay at:

AKL - Too far off the beaten path for us.

ASSp - We have three girls, not exactly into football and the like.

OKW - Again too far from where we typically center our stays.

SSR - Too far out for my liking, we'd rather be in the MK or Epcot resort area (even AK but not DTD as we typically visit ther once a trip if at all)

CBR - We did not care for the resort when we stayed there, plus we'd rather be at CS.

POFQ - DM & DDad stayed there and really, really did not like it. So much so that they switched resorts after one night. Since we typically travel with them I cannot forsee us staying there.

Other than that we would try just about anything else. I think that we are going to focus on the MK resort area for a while. We have three DDs and are looking to try for a fourth child in the fall so the Mk area and the monerail is a must these days.

This is a great question. Because we love the location of the epcot resorts we would not try any other location. We love to walk to epcot ws and walk the boardwalk.

I would stay at any of the Disney hotels without question. We may never shell out for a deluxe though. We get back to the room and will be asleep in under an hour I had no problems with All Stars and Pop so I don't see much point in paying more.

well i can tell you from experince that all 3 times that we've stayed at the All Stars Resorts they were peacefull. and for eveyone who says that they can't get a king sized bed at values, me and dw have gotten 1 all 3 times, it's just a matter of requesting it as you book you vacation. not for nothing, i said it in earlier post , we are not going to spend over $350 just to shower and sleep.

We haven't stayed at a value in quite some time but when we were there they were just as peaceful as any of the other WDW resorts I've stayed at. Actually I can remember a few nights at a moderate that were a bit louder (adults coming back from PI late). I prefer the mods but had a great time in the values when we stayed there. I actually prefer their food courts over any of the other quick service eateries on property, you just can't beat the varitey.

The only value I can't see us staying at is the ASSp just beacuse I don't think that any of us would be excited about the sports theming (especially our three DDs)!

I have stayed in in all price ranges at WDW. The All Star resorts are the ones I would least like to visit again. They are fine for the value, but I always feel like there are thousands of people there. With other resorts, you don't feel like you are surrounded by SO MANY people. At the value resorts, you do.

Well, I've stay off site and that was fine...we stay in very nice hotels. Yes we miss the Disney theme but we spend most of our days in the parks and with such little time in the room or at the hotel it really doesn't matter.
I've stayed at CBR and really liked it. I found the staff very friendly and we had a lovely room close to the bus stop. I know that doesn't appear to be the popular response so far on this thread. Of course we went in the middle of December when the crowds were smaller.
DH and I hated POP. The rooms are just a "Motel 6" with a few Hidden Mickey's. I like nice hotels with bell service and king size beds. The theming is great for kids but for DH and I it didn't cut it. I would prefer to stay off site than to stay there again.

    We are DVC members too.

We have only stayed at Saratoga Springs and Boardwalk. Out of the two, SSR was our favorite. Not a fan of BWV but, we would stay there again for location alone.

We have stayed at some of the Values and Mod's. Out of all of them, the one we would not stay at again would be Pop. Not fans at all.

I don't think we will ever choose to stay at Yacht Club. We went in one day last trip to check it out.

People looked down their noses at us, like we didn't belong. My beloved wife felt so uncomfortable in the short time we were there that she will not set foot in there again.

It's unfortunate. It is a beautiful resort.

Next time I will remember to not wear the seal skin parka and snow shoes...

If we ever won a trip to stay there, we would. But I would DEFINITELY wear the seal skin parka and snow shoes.

Officially too many trips to list here!

I don't think so. Although I prefer not to stay at Pop or any of the All-Stars, if it ever happened that I had no choice in the matter, I'd stay there.

If you've managed to get a King bed everytime you've requested it you certainly are quite lucky. We've NEVER gotten our request for a King bed even though it's been on every request no matter which resort we were staying at. Even when requested when we were celebrating our wedding anniversary!!

I don't think there is any resort I wouldn't stay at. As a matter of fact, it's my goal to stay in every resort. We do prefer staying in Mods or Deluxes.

The only resort we would probably think twice about staying in again would be AS Sports. It was just really noisy with people running about at 2:0am.

sorry to hear that, i even remember us being asked if we would prefer a room with a king size bed, so maybe it's just the right timing?

I fall like alot of people here. I'd take any resort over no resort. For years I said that I'd never stay at a value. Then this past year we headed to Disney a day early and needed a place to stay. Everything was booked except AS sports and CSR suite. The price difference was $130ish to $1200ish. I was shocked! (this was the day after Christmas) We pick AS and it was nice and clean. I don't think I'd stay there a whole week because it is just too small for us. But I was happier than staying off site.

    Cool

We have stayed at 3 out of 4 value resorts, and 3 out of 4 moderates. We'll be at ASSp for 2 nights next week, which will only leave CSR. We've enjoyed our stays each and every time. There is not a value or moderate resort that I would hesitate for a moment to return to.

As for the Deluxe resorts, we have not stayed at any of them. I would like to maybe give AKL and WL a try sometime. And maybe Boardwalk because of it's location in relation to Epcot and DHS. But as for the others, we really have no desire to stay there.

Sure, budget is a factor, but he primary reason they lack appeal to us is we are just not into that sort of extravagance, nor the attitude that sometimes comes with it. It's just not our style. I really can't even fathom spending that much for a room. And for us the feel is just not as friendly and relaxed. Nothing at all against those for whom it suit, it's just not us. That's why there are options, not only to meet budgets, but to meet personalities too.

And I have NEVER understood the folks who just expect that the value resorts are for some reason just aweful, especially when they've never stayed there. Yet for some reason they expect the place to be dirty and falling apart. I can understand not liking the theming, or not caring for the family feel, or just not falling within your particular taste. But to assume they are somehow inferior just doesn't make sense to me. I suppose it's all about attitude, and that's just not mine.

Caribbean Beach but only because we have a bad experience here. The resort and everything was pretty cool just too spread out.

I'm not sure I would stay at All star or POP....they tend to be filled with large groups and based on the lines I have seen at the bus stops to return to those resorts...that would keep me from staying there. I have no desire to stay at Poly or Contemp but maybe when the new vacation club villas open at Contemp I might try those once (DVC member). GF is nice to stay in at least once if for nothing the monorail convenience. We loved Beach Club, Boardwalk was ok, CBR was not something we wanted but only available on a recent last minute trip and we love, love, love the WL. We'll be checking out our home resort SSR in 14 short days.
