    Default Which Moderate?

We've stayed at POR - 13 years ago in AB and liked it, however that was long ago. Stayed at CBR 4 years ago and loved the resort - food court was boring! Daughter-in-law was thinking POFQ - not sure about that - know nothing about it. You read so many posts about the different resorts and dirty rooms - well at $185 and up a night- that's a lot of bucks for rooms. What do you suggest or do you have any recommendations on FQ?

From all of the researching I just did, I would say CSR. We don't go until July, but we are very excited!! It looks lively and of course big. Our thought was, all the resorts are big and you don't go to Disney without expecting to walk!! I know it was a hard decision to pick between CSR and POFQ. Good Luck!!!

We've stayed at all the moderates more than one time each. In order, starting with my favorite, POFQ, CBR, POR, Coronado Springs. I like them all alot. I just like POFQ since it's small. They all are great and I would be happy to stay at any of them. Our last two trips in Feb and Dec were at Coronado.

Pofq is beautiful and there is alot of perks because it is a small resort. I think you will be happy there. Some however prefer a larger resort with more going on. The boat to dtd is very nice too. I find the pool more for the little ones.

My DW and I love POFQ. For us it's the quiet, peaceful feeling and the ease of getting around. We also love the boat to DTD, it beats taking a bus everywhere. I have stayed at CBR with my younger sister (who also loves POFQ) a while back, and although we thought is was a nice place to stay, the bus ride was long and it was a little time consuming getting around.

Stay at POR AB agian....you'll love it. When you stayed there it was Dixie Landings, right? It's still the beautiful, quiet, relaxing, laid back resort you remember...just with some updates!! The food court has been changed, most recently, a year ago. The food is great there....Boatwrights restaraunt is AWESOME for breakfast, probably the best of ANY Disney eatery.....the FQ side is nice too, just on a much smaller scale......with either, you won't be wrong.....about it being clean....don't worry about that....on EVERY trip we've done, I can honestly say that mousekeeping at Riverside has been GREAT....so, don't worry about the rooms, mousekeeping, or the resort....I'm sure your going to love it !!!!!

    Another vote for French Quarter!

We also loved POR, but are returning to FQ. We love the size, the theming, the pool is just great (DD actually insisted that we go back just for the pool), just a great resort

    Coronado Springs!

We love this resort. It is beautiful, has an awesome food court - we eat there at least 2 or 3 times and great transportation - we've never had to wait more than 10 mins for a bus.

We stayed at POR this past January and LOVED it. We were in Alligator Bayou and it was great. We had a bit of a walk to the food court and stuff but it was worth it to be in a very quiet section of the resort. The grounds are beautiful. The theming is nice and not really "in your face" and tacky like the mardi gras stuff at POFQ (sorry, I'm just not a fan of the theming there.) I can see how people with kids would probably prefer french quarter. But as a young couple with no kids...we liked the theming and quiet of POR. It felt more like a deluxe than a moderate, in my opinion. Well worth the money.

I've been to CSR and will be st POFQ next December. So, I cannot speak to POFQ yet.

    But . . . .

If you are looking for something completely different, try Coronado Springs. The landscaping, pool, scenery, and buildings are absolutely stunning.

The food court, called Pepper Market, is a unique food court on Disney property. It is set up like a market plaza with, I dare say, the widest variety of foods of any of the food courts.

It is a large resort and a convention resort.

We love the POFQ and DS insisted we stay there again this year. I love the small resort size and it was quiet. We had no problems with mousekeeping (although we travel during a quieter time), our room was clean, they cleaned everyday left towel animal for my son and extra shampoo and towels without us having to ask. I would like to try riverside sometime, but large size makes me hesitate.

does it being the convention resort make it more crowded? or make the types of people there less touristy? more conventiony?

Gotta love French Quarter, or Port Orleans as we still want to call it. It's small, has a great pool and, of course, Beignets!

We are in a rut, though, but, hey; you find a good thing, you stick with it.

I wasn't impressed with CSR. It just seemed too hard to get around. I liked POR and you can use the facilities at both PO resorts.

We saw the convention people but the resort is big so there is plenty of room. I liked the food court too but it's very expensive. The food was good but costly

Disney Dining Plan helps with the expense of Pepper Market.

Sometimes a convention can add to the fun of your trip. When I was at CSR, one of the conventions going on was for Military stunt teams. I met some of the Blue Angels, Black Knights, Thunderbirds, etc. Plus, it was the weekend of the Army-Navy game, which upped the ante quite a bit.

I would suggest if you have younger kids (10 and under) that PO-FQ would be the best choice. If not, my preferences are......

    POR
    CBR
    POFQ
    CSR

Everyone's taste is different and regardless where you stay you'll have a great time. Mark
