Boardwalk Villas internet question.
I have been looking at the DVC Disney site and what is offered, in particular the Boardwalk Villas.
According to the site when you do the tour there is an internet connection in the living room of the one bedroom villas and a connection in the bedroom also. I have been told by individuals there is only one. Can anyone confirm there are two connections. We will have two laptops with us and need to hook up with both. We have no problem paying two access fees as mine will be paid for by my company.
Thanking anyone who knows in advance.
Jim

I can't help on your specific situation but have a suggestion. You might want to look into an Airport Express from Apple. I use it in hotel rooms to turn the the wired connection into a wireless one and it works great. Makes life considerably easier as well. Just a thought.

I don't know if there are two connections. But I do know that, beginning in the spring, DVC members staying on points will have free internet access.

Not sure this will help or not, but we stayed at OKW and there was a connection in the bedroom and living room of the 2-bedroom. There was probably another connection in the other bedroom, but I didn't explore that room because my my mom was stying in that one. I would assume that it would be the same over at Boardwalk. I won't know for sure until we check in in 18 days. BTW, are they defining "Spring" for the Free DVC Internet Access as being on the actual vernal equinox or do you think they will roll it out earlier? It would be nice because my wife and I both use the internet as well on two different laptops.

You can always throw a router in a suitcase. A few months ago, the MJ ladies had an entire office network set up in their room. It must've looked like the lobby at Microsoft.

In our experience, only one of the connections works - but I've started packing a router. It takes like 3 seconds to plug it in and you can work anywhere in the villa (even out on the balcony!) as well as have multiple computers hooked up if necessary.
Hope this helps -

Just got back! Boardwalk was beautiful! We were in a 1 BR and there was only 1 Cat-5 connection. The internet was not free yet for those staying on DVC points, so I was only on-line for one day. Sorry I didn't post while there. I like the router idea. I'm sure it would work if you know how to set it up. I wonder... can you just plug in a wireless access point and have Wi-Fi in the room? That may work too, but then everyone within so many feet would be able to connect on your dime... not sure if they would shut you down or not.

You can definitely set up an Apple airport, I have done it. You can protect the signal just like any wifi, so others won't be jumping on. Typically you are just replicating the signal from the CAT5 line anyway, so if the policy for the provider is one PC per room (not sure if this is the case with Disney) it will only allow one connection over the wireless.
