Storytelling at AKL

Does anyone know if the storytelling at AKL is held every evening? And at what time (I'm sure this varies per season..) in September?

We were thinking of having dinner at one of the AKL restaurants on our next trip, and it would be fun to also go to a storytelling session. We didn't have time to ck it out when we stayed there!

Answering my own thread from info found on another forum (can't figure out why no one on Intercot could answer this?!?)

In any case, Tiaramom, I discovered that the timing of the storytelling ranges from 6 pm to 6:45 pm depending on the time of year (one poster said that in Sept '07, it was at 6:45 pm).

Posters also noted that the storytelling is right around sunset - which could be later than 6:30 in the summer. To find out when sunset is for the day you want to go, check this website: http://www.srrb.noaa.gov/highlights/...e/sunrise.html

The storytelling lasts about 20-30 minutes. The story and timing is listed on the AKL activity board each day, but if you call the front desk of the AKL they will have the info for that day as well.

You do not have to be a guest of AKL to go to the storytelling.

the storytelling is a great experience! (although my young toddler - around 2 at the time -- was very restless -- it seemed geared toward older children and adults)

depending on the time of year, you may also want to bring along some bug repellent. i know they must be spraying something for the mosquitoes, but we did get the occasional assault from the critters whenever we went outside after sunset at AKL
