Best way to get to Poly from WL?
For some reason, I thought the Poly was on the boat route from WL...but DH isn't so sure about that.
After reading the post about the 'Ohana breakfast, now I want to try to go there for the Stitch experience, as he is our favourite character (even though that post was about a yucky food experience..)
In any case - if the boat doesn't go there, what is the best way to get to the Poly from WL?
Thanks!

You can take the boat from WL to MK then take another resort boat to Poly. Or you can take the monorail from the MK. Have fun, you'll love the breakfast!!
16 days!!

You can also take the boat to the CR and take the monorail from there to the Poly. We did that when we were there a couple of weeks ago!

The WL and the Poly are on separate boat routes. The Poly shares a boat with the GF and the loop goes from MK-GF-Poly-MK-etc. It might be more efficient to boat to CR and monorail over as Lisa suggested. But you could boat to MK and then boat to Poly, or bus to MK and monorail or boat over.

I'd be willing to bet it is no more than a 15 min walk from WL to Poly.

I know you must be kidding!!!
During certain times of the year the WL and Polynesian share a bus but you would have to check when you are there. If that is the case (like it was when we were there) you can just get on any bus and than the next stop is the Polynesian but lately they have been sharing with the Contemporary. You could bus to the MK and than boat over. Don’t even think of trying to walk.

Thanks everyone!
You know, I hadn't even thought of walking! We haven't had a car in a year (since moving to NZ), and I walk everywhere here.
Has anyone walked from WL to Poly? Is there even a path?

Your best options are:
1) Boat to Contemporary, then take the monorail to the Poly.
2) Boat/bus to MK, then monorail to Poly.
Walking from the WL to Poly is not a practical option.

The big question is what time is breakfast?
That would certainly change your options if it is extremely early Disney Transportation might allow you enough time to make your reservation. In which I case I would suggest a taxi.

Don't walk
The walk is way too long, and you'd cross alot of busy intersections
( ok , i admit we tried..)
Best bet is to go to CR by boat and monorail over- But you do have some wait time.
But to make better time, its a quick cheap cab ride. In the time ypu'd wait for the bus or monorail, you'd already be enjoying your pineapple bread with Lilo.
Enjoy- its a great breakfast.

Not at all. I just checked it out on Google Earth. It is .85 mile by road from the front of the WL to The Great Ceremonial House. Shorter than the walk between MGM and Epcot. 15 min at a brisk walk. Maybe 20 tops. The only main intersection appears to be World Drive.

Ah, but it is an incredibly busy intersection where it's hard to even cross in a car, let alone on foot (the light is short with buses flying every which direction). Also, there are no sidewalks along this route, which would indicate that Disney does not want you hoofing it through that area. I would go with the boat to CR and then monorail to Poly if a cab is not of interest to you.

I agree. This is not a safe walk by any stretch of the imagination. Please don't try it. Very busy stretch of road and car traffic between the resorts there. No sidewalks, no paths. The physical proximity is there, yes, but it's not a walking route.

As SBETigg says, it is in no way a safe walk. Google earth can tell you that the distance is not that long but google earth can't tell you whether it is safe or not. It is not.
No sidewalk, no path and lots of traffic. Those roads are never quiet. We looked at the possibility this year for the first time while driving back to the Poly and it took about 4 seconds to decide it was a terrible idea.
Tikiman has more knowledge and experience than all of us with the Poly. Trust him and take his advice, don't even think about it.

I agree
I attempted it and it was stupid to do it.

Ok, Ok, you all have me convinced... I'm trying it next time.
In May '05 I walked from POP Century to The Dolphin. 45 mins, no problems. No sidewalks until I crossed Buena Vista Dr.

Thanks for doing our research for us everyone! We'll probably do the boat to monorail option.
I'm thinking of scheduling the breakfast for our first day - we get there super duper early, and might need to "kill some time" before we are allowed into our room. Since we will have flown over 20 hours at that point, I think we'll take the 'easy way' to breakfast! =)

It was either that or walk to the car care center.
Now that I'd REALLY like to see - trying to maneuver around the MK parking lot!
