What I did for our honeymoon. Here are some ideas for you.

First thing, don't forget to ask for your honeymoon pins.

I booked the carriage ride at POR one night.

I called and asked for late dinner reservations at the Castle. I had them time the reservations with the fireworks and begged for us to get a window seat at the restaurant. The day of the dinner I went to the park and verified that we had the reservations and I told them it was our honeymoon and again begged to get a window seat in the restaurant. This way you are front and canter for the fireworks. they will literally go off out the window next to you.

You will need to book ASAP for both of these (carriage and restaurant) if you want them.

Don't be afraid to be campy. get hats with you names on them and put the buttons on the hat. You will be amazed how many CMs and visitors congratulate you, offer to take your pic or even bring you a surprise desert in a restaurant. You can never be to manly for mouse ears. I work with construction guys all the time and I still wore the ears everyday.

hope this helps you, have fun

Request bldg 18....it's just beside a quiet pool which is very secluded and definatlely not busy at night, especially late at night.......kinda romantic......plus this bldg is a very short walk to the food and busses......have fun.

We have stayed at POR twice and found the Mansion section to be more romantic than the Aligator Bayou. We stayed once in Magnolia Terrace and once in Acadian House. Both locations were fine and once you get your bearings, they are not very far from the main building & food court. We liked the quiet pools near the Mansions and we always request a top floor room which seems much quieter than the other floors. You may want to request a corner room. They have two large windows and are much brighter and seem larger than the regular rooms. We have never paid extra for a "view" and usualy are in the back of the buildings overlooking the parking lots, but the trees and landscaping add to the view. We also find this location is much closer to the bus stop and that is a big plus at the end of the day.
You will love this resort and it is perfect for a Honeymoom. We are returning in December for our 7th trip in 6 years and are looking forward to returning to POR where we stayed our first 2 times!

We stayed in room 2721 and liked it a lot. The bed is king sized and it is a corner room with a nice view of the garden (it is a "standard view" room but you can't see any parking areas.) The room is very close to the main bus stop and the main building. Building 27 is next to building 18.
The other posters have given some great advice about what to do at the resort. Have a great time and congratulations on your marriage!

I would say being by yourselves I'd go for the mansion sides of POR. The Alligator Bayou section bldgs 18, 14, or 27 are the closest to the food court and south depot bus stop and one of the quiet pools but maybe not as romantic.

WE just stayed at POR and we were in Alligator Bayou Bldg 15, room 1554. It was a short walk to a quiet pool, the bus stops and the main building. I actually loved it and I hope we get it in Oct

To be honest i love POR soo much i would say it doesnt even matter where you are located. It's beautiful grounds. Though i would also reccomend a carriage ride one night.
