    2) This can make the entire RFC meal about $65-$75.

    3) In many other places, the total meal can exceed $35 easily.
    4) Especially in Epcot World Showcase.
    5) Getting tougher to find entrées over $35 for 1-TS.

    1) That is correct.
    2) But, it is still about $45-$50 per person (or per 1-TS).

Other than the 1.5 lb lobster, there is nothing that costs $35 there. Even then, the DDP would probably just exclude that item. Heck, I can get a $32 entree at the Coral Reef for 1 TS (which isn't all that far from $35).

The rest of the entrees at RFC are right on par with many other 1 TS restaurants. No big deal.

I'll be interested to see how this comes out. We love RF and were disappointed to find that it wasn't on DDP. Hopefully they will add it.

You would think it would be good business for them, if for nothing else than the extra foot traffice through there huge gift shops. Just guessing, but I would think that alone would be an extra 10-20% in merchandising sales.
Everybody else is thinking it, I'm just saying it. - Mr Gibbs

There may be an advantage to being one of the very few restaurants that is not participating in the Dining Plan.

I can't add to the discussion of whether RFC has been added to the DDP or not, but I had a few thoughts.

    1. I don't think the RFC is hurting for business, so from their point of view, I can't see their benefit from being a DDP restaurant. We had reservations at RFC in DTD last trip for 6pm, checked in at 5pm, and were told at 6 that it would be at least another 1/2 hour wait! With reservations...(BTW, I caused a small ruckus with that one, not quite a riot, but a little bruhaha LOL)

    2. With all the talk of how Disney is "dumbing down" their menus to make the DDP more cost-efficient for them, could you imagine what the RFC menu would look like if they did go DDP? Like their food or not, you have to admit that they have a pretty extensive menu. I've never been to Planet Hollywood in Orlando; does anyone know how their menu compares to other PHs?

    3. We love the RFC, and it's not on the DDP. So...we pay OOP. You could even save more by dining there at lunchtime.

BTW, you know that you can call the RFC in DTD directly to make ressies, right?

    Just my well...actually, three.

As of today, the Disney website does not say that the DDP is offered for this restaurant.

I made ADR's yesterday for RF at AK for Aug 2007 and was reminded twice that this restaurant is not on the DDP and that you must pay for all meals.

I was also told that RFC was NOT part of the plan - but that was for the free dining plan.. maybe it is part of another plan?

    Default Get the year right!

It is NOT on the 2007 DDP, but it may be added for 2008. The confusion is due to the original start of thread having the wrong years written.

There are several restaurants which participate in the Premium Plan that do not participate in the Disney Dining Plan.

I've noticed this as well. It's on the Premium Plan, but on on the regular plan. Since we are eating at a 2TS credit restruant, we are going to try RFC out of pocket. I've always wanted to eat there but never had a chance. We have one in AC, but I'm sure it's nothing like WDW.

I have tried this on at least 2 or 3 occasions. I have never been able to get resvervations there. I was told once that they didn't take reservations, once when I was an AP holder I requested because I had read where it was availble to passholders. They said it was only a limit space held and they were all filled for the two nights I wanted. And I think I tried again, but you know after all that, I just think it was easier to forget it and plan to either wait it out or eat on the back deck, ( it's really peaceful and you get to see some of the EPCOT fireworks if you plan it right)

I'm surprised to hear that, I didn't have any problems when I called to make ADR's, and they were for a Saturday night (in Janury, but RFC was popping that night!)

Matter of fact, I called the RFC in Atlantic City some weeks back, to ask about hours, and the man who answered the phone suggested I make reservations--I had just assumed they didn't take them LOL
