    Default Air Conditioners at POP

Two years ago we stayed at ASMovies and the temp. in the room was controlled by a thermostat on the wall, just like in your house. Last year, we stayed at POR and the room we were in had the big, bulky unit that sits under the window and doesn't really have a thermostat - just hi, med., low and off. I much preferred the set-up at ASMovies. Can somebody tell me how it is at POP??

Pop has the thermostat on the wall. I don't think it goes below 69º.

Pop has the one you set to a specific temp, just like at home...much better than the high, low, no option!

Yeah, the AC is quiet . . . but . . . . tell that to the turbotoilets.

You can flush small children in those things

The lowest seeting on the AC Pop is 68 which in my book is not cool enough for me that is my only complaint with the resort but I think most of them have this as their lowest setting.

At the All Star Sports, you can set it in the 50s. We couldn't figure out why our room was so cold (not that I was complaining) and then realized my toddler was using the cooler as a step stool to play with the AC buttons.

Hmmmm....maybe that's why Pop only goes to 68...

I've heard that the extra force of the toilet causes such a pull on the room's airflow that they don't have to vacuum. They just flush a couple of times, then move on to the next room.

Being from Northern Michigan, I have to agree with this. The last time we stayed at Pop, we contacted Maintenance to see if our AC could be set lower. Two nice gentlemen came right over and "did something" to the thermostat so that we could get it at least 3 degrees cooler!! They said that it is an easy fix and they do it all of the time!!! Yay!!!

I have to laugh at these posts... one of the things I loved most about staying at the POP last September was that I was able to set the temp in my room to a level that was fairly comfortable for me... 76 degrees... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_0227.jpg
And I took a picture of it because I was so happy! So here is an upclose and personal image of the digital thermostat at the Pop Century. (And I had to put a note on it for mousekeeping to please return it to 76 when they left the room..
Did I mention I like it hot?

    Smile Great pic!

eLPACK that was a great pic! LOL! I heard that there is a way to override the thermostate to get it lower than 68*, but have not figured it out for ourselves. On our 2nd trip to POP we were able to lower the temp to 58* not sure why or how.

I can honestly say I've never taken a pix of a thermostat at WDW. Too funny.
I just hope the a/c at ASMu can go low. I like to be warm but I need the room on the cooler side to sleep.
