    Default Poly, here we come!

It's official, my best friend & I have booked the hotel for the "World" portion of our trip. We will be staying at the Polynesian. I cannot wait because it is such a beautiful resort. I need some help though. I was only there once and did not have time to do anything, What must I do while I'm there? Thanks so much for your responses and suggestions. God bless and happy Mickey

Congratulations, it's a beautiful resort and you should have a great time! We always like to watch Wishes and the Electric Water Pageant from the beach one night. The Water Pageant goes by at nine pm unless Wishes is scheduled for the same time.

Some things I have done and would recommend:

    1. Eat at 'Ohana

    2. Spirit of Aloha Luau

    3. Watch the fireworks and water parade

    4. Get a cup of Kona Coffee before hitting a park (if you drink coffee)

Ohanas is great also There is a LILo and Stitch character breakfast that gets great reviews. You can google tikiman,he has a Poly web site with lots of info. I prefer to stay in one of a the newer longhouses because the rooms were alot bigger. Some longhouses were added about 1987??. I love the Poly but the rest of me family prefers to stay over at the yc,bc area.

Gotta get the Tonga Toast available at either Kona Cafe (TS) or Capn Cook's (CS).

Also, google Tikiman 2001. His website has lots of info on the Poly.

I heard that they have self serve Dole Whips at Captain Cook's now.

Also, take a dip in the volcano pool, get some sun on the white sand beach or hop the monorail to visit the Grand Floridian and the Contemporary.

I'll be staying there in August and I can't wait!!!

My suggestion is to see the water pageant parade and wishes from the beach. Try the spirit of aloha dinner show, and of course, have a great time!!

Others have listed the highlights. Tonga toast is a must!! The water pageant and wishes on the beach are another must!!

Then sit back and enjoy the laid back island feeling in the middle of the Disney. You will absolutely love it!

    Cool

Well cinderellangel, since you'll be hard pressed to fit all of these great suggestions into a 4 day trip, I guess that you will have to return to the POLY!

Definately watch wishes and the electric water pagent from the beach. Eat at both Kona and Ohana's, they have great shops! Enjoy the main lobby- it is gorgeous! Have a great trip- you will love it there!

We stayed at the Poly in Jan and I fell in love with it. I always wanted to stay there and it's now my all time favorite resort. Make sure you swim in the main pool. When we went the weather was warm the first few nights and then it got really cold and that's when they decided they wanted to go swimming. I actually wore a coat out to the pool. So swim when you can!!!
Also do a character breakfast at Ohanas, it was great with a beautiful view of the castle You will love it. Have fun planning

I just know you'll love your stay at the Poly. My wife and I honeymooned there in 2003, and went back again (getting the same room) in 2005.

There have been some suggestions I'm inclined to agree with, including watching Wishes or the Electrical Water Pagent from the Poly's boat dock, but I would have to disagree with those steering you to the Tonga Toast. DO NOT TRY IT, IT IS NASTY. I can't, for the life of me, see why anyone likes it. But, to each his own, right?

My wife and I loved having the monorail right there to take us to the MK every day, and always enjoy a meal at 'Ohana. I'm sure you'll enjoy these things as well. Have a great time!

    Default We're going, too!!

Well, DH surprised me a little while back, and said that he wanted to cancel our MYW package at Pop in December and switch to the Poly, so we are also Poly bound!!!!!!!!

So, we are doing 12 days at the Poly (12/6-12/17), getting AP's (DH wants to go back down for the F&GF at Epcot in the spring) and getting the DDE card. I can't wait!!!

Have a great trip!! I am so excited about ours!!
