Default I-4 vs 417 on Saturday morning?

Will 417 Beltway get me to WDW quicker than I-4? We will be coming from VA on I-95 to I-4. We are spending the night in Kingland GA; right on the FL border and should leave there by 7 am Sat a.m. Will there be enough traffic in Orlando that early to warrant taking the Beltway? Is 417 more convenient? We are staying at POFQ. Any estimates what time this would put us into WDW?

    THANKS! 17 more days!

I'm not sure how long the travel time is but I would take 417. You can pick it up in Sanford off of I-4. It's just personal preference for me.

I would think I-4 through Orlando is always busy enough to warrant going on 417, I love that road. It's well worth the tolls.

Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they're NOT out to get you!

Either way that you go, you should be there between 10:30am and 11:30am, depending on traffic and any construction on I-4 around the St. John's river.

    Have a safe trip!

Driving on 1-4 is enough to ruin my Disney trip! I'd go the other way!!!

I used to drive both of these roads very frequently. While the 417 may be a better view, it will take you about 15 min. longer...and you stop at either 5-6 toll booths, so make that at least 20 min longer. I know I4 can be a headache, but I would recommend taking it. For a Sat morning there arriving at that time there should not be any traffic. I just moved from Orlando 2 months ago and feel very comfortable making this suggestion. When I'm on driving on vacation to Disney, the quickest way is definitely what I'm looking for! More time with Mickey
    Good luck with your drive!

i agree with florida girl. there shouldn't be any traffic that early especially on a saturday morning. i'm not sure how far where you are staying from me is, but from my driveway to the exits for disney on I-4 it is a 2 hour and 15 minute drive. from my driveway to MCO (via 417) is 2 hours and 20 min and from there it's about 20-25 more minutes to disney. i guess it just depends how anxious you are feeling that morning! goodluck though...and have fun!

Thanks for all the replies. We are staying 3 miles north of the Florida border (Kingsland, GA), so not too far from Jax. Mapquest says 189 miles from hotel to WDW. DH is an early riser, and he will get us on the road NO later than 7am, maybe earlier. (I don't think we'll be too hard to wake us up that particular day ). Right now, I'm leaning toward I-4 at that early hour. We'll probably we make our decision just before the 417 exit. We want every possible minute there!! We are hoping to be at WDW by 10-ish!!
