    Default Flowers or Flags?

    That is the question..

In the new Epcot room there are purple things in the planters.

Do you think they are Flowers or Dream flags from Year Of A Million Dreams?

I have posted a picture of the VMK room flowers and the Dream flags (large size here) that are all over WDW

I think they resemble lupins.. but what do I know? Either way the art leaves a little to be desired.

It's a bad version of dream flag, but would be the weirdest flower i ever saw if it was a flower.

Erm... aren't they flowers?! Or is my vision gone bad? Or is it just pink streaks of paint?

I don't know the name of the flower, but I have seen them in nurseries around here. The reddish ones actually look like wee little bursts of flame (might be part of the name and if the wife were here she could tell me the name for sure.) Anyway, a flower does exsist that looks like them little purple-ish pink thangs.

Well, think about it, there could be a support group (behind some, wonderfully fabricated, Epcot rock) for "Gnomes without Hats"..

    I'm just sayin'.

    Hello my fellow intercot people..

I just want to let you know that these poor excuse for flowers are infact flowers.. they do exist and they are a seasonal flower that the horticulterical ( i know i spelled that wrong ) like to plant all around EPCOT sometimes because they can be cheap.. Sorry to burst some bubbles..

Astro.. running on 4 years with the company..

Can anyone give us the name of these flowers?

Cita tried to give us the name of a flower, but I have no idea what she was saying.

It just occured to me that Cita might have tried to say Salvia?

Okay I went directly to the source. I posted this question on Yavn's blog so we'll see if him or Caffdawg respond:

"Can you settle a dispute a bunch of us are having about the Epcot Entrance room? We are trying to figure out what is in the planters. Are they purple plants or are they the purple Dream banners? We’ve all been searching everything we can find about entrance to Epcot and can’t decide. Half says flowers, other half says Dream banner. If flowers, what are they suppose to be?"

Its also interesting that in today's blog, he actually explains behind the scenes of how they put together the quests. He's saying this new one is a "4th type of quest". Hmm! Wonder what that means.

I like this new 4th type of quest. Finally a quest I can do good at!!! Wooo Woot and "wo"!
And I'm lovin' this "dispute" over the planters in the EPCOT entrance. I have decided now that they are neither flower nor flag, but the legs of that insipid catterpillar from Alice in Wonderland laying on his back after having eaten too many turkey legs and churros!! So, there's another mystery solved! "Who-- R--Uuu?"

I think Figment was feeling ill and couldn't make it to a bathroom in time to review lunch.

I voted for the dream flags.

This is not in full bloom but this is the type of salvia I was talking about..
    http://www.mountainvalleygrowers.com...roseflower.jpg
I have them in my garden and they look just like those planters in the epcot room.

But I voted for gnome hats anyway.

    They made me sneeze.

    Ah shoe. Ah shoe.

So I say, they are flowers.

    What kind of flower?

    Look up:

    Lythrum salicaria

    OR

    Agastache rugosa

    OR

    Salvia pratensis

Ricks (whose thumb may not be green, but it is sticking out to catch a ride)*

*Kids, despite what Jack Kerouac said, hitchhiking is not as glamorous as it appears.
Zut alors! I have missed one!

I say flowers. I mean why would a flag be in the dirt/planters?!? That's just me. I never grew up thinking that a flag could be risen in dirt, so...yea. FLOWERS IT IS!

But patti, I never thought about it until you brought it up. Thanks for the argument
