I mentioned a similar sentiment in another thread a moment ago, but to me this points out why countries like ours need to be able to keep our differences in perspective. Although the U.S. is the sole remaining "Superpower" clearly we cannot lead by ourselves. If we are going to use the moral advantage that things like 9-11 bestow upon us, we must reach out to countries like England, with whom we have so much in common, and work together to make the entire world, not just our little patch of it, a safe place for all.

A heartfelt thank you from America to our cousins across the pond. The touching tributes and words of support from the U.K. today and during the past year have touched all our hearts. This horror touched not just our own continent but reached around the world. It is not our size that gives us strength, but the knowledge that we are not standing alone.

I would like to add to the sentiment of Dawn and Martin. The playing of the Star Spangled Banner and God Save the Queen in St Paul's were truly moving, as was Desmond Tutu's address; though nothing could be as touching as the pictures from ground zero.

This is a proud day for America as well as one of mourning. May our nations stand together come what may.

And in the simple words of one of our country's most famous exports. Please remember, whatever may arise:

    All You Need is Love.

    I've got a dirty thumb.

What wonderful sentiments to be expressed--thank you for taking the time to share them here. As for me, I pray for peace in the USA, the UK, the whole world.
