    Question

Any one familiar with or had a Disney World
wedding, please let me know. I am thinking of having my second wedding at Disney World and want to know any unbiased information on the Disney Weddings I can hear.

I looked into having a Disney Wedding when I first got engaged. I decided against it because it would have been difficult for family to travel to Orlando.

Disney Fairy Tale Weddings (as they are called) are very elegant and beautiful. http://www.disneywedding.com No expense is spared. You can have an "intimate wedding" that is relatively inexpensive but you can only have 10 people total attend, including you and your husband. If you want to have a reception for those 10 people, it is $75 a person.

There are the Disney "Custom Weddings" which are for 10+ people. These have spending caps. For example, for a weekend wedding, you must spend $10,000 not including tax & tips, on the wedding. For a weekday wedding you must spend $7500.

There is another option. The Swan and Dolphin hotel as well as the Wyndham at Downtown Disney do thier own seperate wedding packages. you can get info on that at http://www.justmarry.com or at http://www.swandolphin.com. They have two packages, one for $2000 and one for $5000 (reception not included) There are not limits to guests and many add on features. The weddings are held on the hotel property and not at the Disney wedding pavilion.

There is an email groups on Yahoo! Groups called Disneymooners. They are a group of brides getting married at Disney. They can give you tons of first hand knowledge.

    Hope this helps!

BrerGnat, a member of Intercot, just had a Disney wedding. You can read all about it on the Trip Reports board. That may help!

    Cool

I just had a WDW Fairy Tale Custom Wedding on June 28, 2001. We had 30 guests. We used Disney for everything:
    -married at Wedding Pavilion
    -used Disney photographers
    -Reception at Beach Club
    -used Disney Florist
    -used Disney for the cake
    -used Disney for the entertainment
    -used Disney for hair/makeup

We were BEYOND impressed at the way everything turned out! We live in California and had guests fly in from CA, NJ, NC, and Puerto Rico. Everyone had a blast, and most stayed for an extra few days to make a vacation out of it. We got a discount on the rooms at the Port Orleans, and my husband and I stayed in one of the honeymoon rooms at the Wilderness Lodge with a discount as well (10%).

Check out my entire wedding and honeymoon trip report in the Trip Reports forum for a detailed description of how the wedding day and honeymoon went.

I would not hesitate to recommend a WDW Fairy Tale wedding to anyone who even has a slight interest in doing so. They take care of everything for you and it is a zero stress endeavor.

If you want to see the pictures I have posted so far, click on the little house at the bottom of my post. I have not posted reception pictures yet...they will be up shortly.

Also, if you want any information, e-mail me at the address in my profile. Don't use the e-mail link here, as it goes to an address I don't check often. I will answer any questions you have (disney is very selective about what details they will give you before you have signed a contract and left a deposit). I don't mind telling you anything you need to know.

We are renewing our vows for our 10th anniversary at Disney World on Jan. 30th. See yourfairytale.com for lots of info on planning a Disney wedding or vow renewal.

We will have 13 guests, including our then-2 year old son. Vow Renewal is at The Wedding Pavilion where we arrive and depart in Cinderella's Glass Coach. Reception at GF's Convention Center in the Whitehall Room and Terrace. Food, open bar, etc. Mickey mouse and the White Rabbit will entertain for 30 minutes each. In the evening, we will have a private Illuminations Dessert Party on the UK's Lower Terrace.
    Hope this helps.

First of all, BrerGnat, I checked out your homepage, and your wedding was incredible!!!! I read your trip reports, but the pictures say it all. What a beautiful day for you and your new husband!!!

Nicsmom, how did you EVER get your hubby to agree to such a cool 10th anniversary vow renewal? I am happy planning a trip to GF. I figure I'll have to tough it out 15 more years and get the vow renewal out of him on the 25th.

Make sure you post some pics after the renewal in January. I can't wait to see them. It looks like you and your family are trully going to have the vacation of your lives!
