Tilly (4), Adam (the daddy) & me (the granny)

This was an Animal Kingdom day. I have to say that this is our least favorite park. I really like a few of the attractions there, but neither of my boys like the park much. I scheduled one day there and this was it. When I came with my older son's family last summer we didn't schedule any days at AK.

Since the night before was so late, we slept in a bit. I still was able to get a few LLs. The first was for Kilimanjaro Safaris. Although it was late, we still saw lots of animals. Tilly really liked this ride so maybe I'll have a sidekick with another vote for AK next time. We saw lions, elephants, rhinos, lots of other animals and giraffes that blocked the road for a bit. Next we went over to Dinosaur for another LL. Although I warned Adam that my sister lost her watch on Dinosaur years ago, he made sure he had his watch but didn't check for his Magic Band. Yep, it was gone and he didn't realize it for awhile. Luckily I brought our cards along so he could still use that for the rest of the trip to enter the room, enter LLs and charge stuff to the room. Tilly loves dinosaurs and I'm happy to say she still does after that ride.

We rode Triceratops Spin and Tilly played some games in Dinoland. I have to say I really dislike this area. The best 'carnival ride' is the one that's gone now. I really think they should work on this area.

I had LL for what used to be my favorite show, the Festival of the Lion King. It's still good, but it's not great anymore. I miss the 'monkeys' and some of the more active tumbling. We walked the long way around and watched Kite Tails and some of the street performers. This was the first time to see Kite Tails. It was interesting. The people who pulled the kites looked like they really enjoyed their jobs.

Tilly had taken to just stopping and dancing when she heard music she liked. She really liked the sitar player here and the Taiko drummers at EPCOT. We just stopped and let her dance. We had a reservation to eat dinner at Chef Mickey's so that was the end of our day at AK.

I like the changes at Chef Mickey's. I enjoy having the food brought to us. I always felt like I was rushed there before trying to get a plate of food, eat, and still get good photos. I have to say I'll be happy when kids can still hug the characters though.
