We will be staying at Old Key West for the first time the week of Thanksgiving. Can anyone give me some information about the bus service? I have been reading horror stories about extremely long waits at other resorts due to Covid restrictions.
I'll also be interested to hear anyone else's experiences. Like you - I've heard horror stories about having to wait 30-60-90 minutes to be able to get on a bus.
Right now, if I was headed down there - I think I'd plan on driving to the parks unless you are on a monorail, skyliner or walking distance.

What I know is what has been posted here on Intercot. It seems like the busses are limited to six "groups". But a group can be a single person. So, at worst, a bus might only hold six people. If the groups are full, then it can't let anyone else on.
I would definitely not plan on using the bus system to get around Walt Disney World right now, unless it's mid-day and you're not coming or going to the parks during the opening/closing rushes.

Next up - January 2023 short trip! We just want to try that 50th Anniversary chocolate monstrosity at Mexico!
The buses at OKW were hit and miss BEFORE Covid. It is a large resort, with multiple stops and the bus was often full, so with Covid it is just that much worse.
I'd really recommend driving (we always drive when we stay at OKW) if you can, or at least heading over to the first bus stop for the best chance of actually getting on.
Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, driving will not be an option for us. We also have an additional complication in that my wife requires an ECV, so taking an Uber or Lyft will also probably not be an option. Guess we'll just have to hope for the best with the busses!
