Can we do it in one day?
Hello,
Completely new to the world of Universal. We have a budding wizard in our family (9yo) and while the focus of our trip will be a pilgrimage to WDW, we will be making a side trip to Universal for at least a day.
We will be buying park-to-park tickets, and we intend to really spend most if not all of our time in the Wizarding World. My question is: is it feasible for us to "do it" in one day?
Thanks!

If your family is mostly interested in the HP areas of both parks then yes you can do it in one day. There is rarely much of a wait time unless it is a holiday or school break. I think you will all enjoy the parks. Have a frozen butter beer for me!

If you purchase the Express Pass, very likely, yes.
I did the Express Pass a few years back in October and was able to do every ride in both parks and spend quite a bit of time just wandering the two Harry Potter areas (and did the Hogwarts Express both directions)

Thanks! Will do!
We are planning to be in Orlando from 9/20-9/28ish. Purposely avoiding school breaks and holidays. It will be F&WF at Epcot, and the various Halloween evening events will have started up by then, but that's fine by us!

If we are only doing the two HP areas, and in the last week of September, do you think we need the Express Pass?

If you are only doing the Harry Potter areas, no; Express Pass would not help. Unless something changed recently, Express Pass (at least the basic level) is not valid on the Harry Potter rides.
It just helped knock out everything else with no wait, literally walked on every other attraction (including Kong shortly after it opened) and most were averaging about at least 40 min by afternoon wait.
Also I would recommend starting in Diagon Alley (Universal Studios) early in the day and riding the Express to Hogsmeade then riding back to Diagon Alley; this seemed to be the opposite direction of most of the crowd and save a lot of time in waiting.

If you are only going to do the two Harry Potter lands, then I believe you can do both in one day...
Son of Jor-El.. Kneel before Zod...
TRICIA JONES: I heard that you were going to propose to Brandi Svenning at some theme park. When are men going to learn that women want ROMANCE, not Mr. Toad's Wild Ride...
BRODIE: Hey, now, be fair. EVERYONE wants Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.
